SD card not recognized after formatting
I formatted my SD card and now the printer acts like it's not there when I insert it. The machine reads other cards, and this card is readable in other devices. Is there some fay to reformat it somehow so that it is recognized again?
Re: SD card not recognized after formatting
Did you remember to format to FAT32? If not, just reformat again - but it is possible that card has just reached the end of its life.

It is fat32. How could it be at the end of its life? I got the printer in October
Re: SD card not recognized after formatting
You could try a low level format, there are a number of free tools around like HD Low Level Format Tool. Just use it with caution though 😉
Re: SD card not recognized after formatting
There are SD Card specific formatting tools out there.

That's the one I have installed. Hope it helps.

Ok. Low level format seemed to fix it. How strange.
Re: SD card not recognized after formatting
I ran into a replacement card that caused problems by going into the card reader slot too far. The contacts then weren't touching, and the printer said SD card not inserted. I didn't know if the slot were just on the edge of being too big or not, or if mine has a bend shroud or something.
That'll teach me to run my original one through the washer and dryer in my pants.
Re: SD card not recognized after formatting
Kevin's solution did it for me. I tried all the format options with the Mac Disk Utility but none worked. Using the official formatter ( https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter ) did the trick.
RE: SD card not recognized after formatting
Hello..! There are some working solutions available to fix the MicroSD card nor recognized error, so you need not worry anymore. Simply run the Chkdsk command prompt to fix this issue. So, follow the below steps, to do so:
- First, insert your undetected/unrecognized SD card into the card reader & connect it to Windows PC.
- Next, click on START, then, type the “CMD” in a search bar
- After that, hit the ENTER to open the new command prompt window.
- At last, type the: “chkdsk /X /f H:” or “chkdsk H: /f” command & hit the ENTER. Here you have to replace H: with the SD card drive letter name.
