PINDA cable failure??
I had been printed solid and great for about a week. I took the old print off and put a new print on when I got the following when the PINDA failed on sensor #3.
"Bed leveling failed. Sensor disconnected or cable broken. Waiting for reset."
Either that PINDA cable is the filmiest cable ever or something else is wrong. I cut one of the zip ties and I was able to get it to complete all 9 sensor points, but then I tried putting it back gently and now it's back to failing. Could it be a short? If so, is it really built that thin? It was installed per assembly instructions. And then the next question is, I guess, where do I get a new PINDA (I cannot find it on their website)?
Nevermind, found it... $10 for the probe and over $20 for shipping?!???!!?!?! Are you kidding??!?! For a PINDA sensor that shorted out through normal operation and I need to spend another $30. This is really making me reconsider the purchase of an MK3 as another printer to this one.
I'm really disappointed here. This cable wasn't being cut into or anything... it was secured via zipties in the manner described in the assembly instructions.

I have a replacement on the way, but I cut the middle out of the old pinda cable Between the zip ties, and splices a new piece in, temporarily... now working again!

Re: PINDA cable failure??
Thanks Joan,
You've been really helpful in the past and continue to be so. I appreciate it. I'm going to send support an email tonight, but I might just order one and say screw it. It's going to put me really behind if I have to go back and forth with them for a week and have to order one anyway. I dunno. Nothing can get done until tomorrow anyway, so I'll think about it.
I assume by the last part of your statement that you've had PINDA problems too of a similar variety. No cut for me though, somehow through normal operation, maybe the way zip ties were one, created a short underneath the sheath. Who knows... I fiddled with the cable a bit and was able to get it working if I held it JUST right. But, it's a very temporary fix.
Thanks again.
