Nozel Outputing filament after temps reached
Hi all,
My MK2s is extruding filament for a while (about 1 minute) after the bed and hot end have reached temperature.
The filament is not being fed in at this point.
Consequently if i start a print immediately then calibration fails.
Ever since i have had this printer( about 1 year) i have been able to start a print immediately the temp has been reached.
This problem has only just started. Presently i have to wait about a minute and then start my printing and all is the fine.
Can anyone tell me whats wrong.
Other than this problem all is going well and are very pleased with the I3.
Thanks
Regards
Les
Re: Nozel Outputing filament after temps reached
Hi Les.
In the year that you have had the printer, have you printed a lot of filament?
If so. Have you changed the nozzle?
It may be worn out? Might be time to change nozzles...
Some folk change the start Gcode to heat the bed to normal temperatures and the nozzle to say 170c. Complete the bed levelling before heating to full temp. To overcome the dribbling

Re: Nozel Outputing filament after temps reached
Hi Joan,
Thanks for the reply. Just to answer your questions:
Have put through about 1km of Only PLA and not used any abrasive material, the nozzel has not been changed.
So i will change the nozzel but would that amount of filament used cause the wear?
If so what amount of PLA could one expect from a Hardened nozel if i don't use abrasive material ?
Thanks

Re: Nozel Outputing filament after temps reached
Hi Les, 1Kg PLA shouldn't wear the nozzle out...
I have printed loads of PLA including Glow in the dark, and never had a hardened nozzle.

Thanks Joan,
Will try a new nozel but not concerned, only an insignificant hiccup.
