Leveling Y Axis carriage

I am having trouble leveling my Y axis carriage during the build. I level my Y axis carriage before I screw it on the z axis frame. However, when I assemble the both Y and frame together, the Y axis carriage does not seat on all four corners. Then I detached the Y axis carriage from the frame, and it is level. Why is that and does it affect my final xyz calibration from such issue?

Re: Leveling Y Axis carriage

Hi Stephen,

It's very easy to apply torque on the M12 thread when tighening the bolt at this stage, which bend the Y axis carriage.

The trick is to tighen both rear bolt and front bolt at the same time, from each side of the frame, and to alternate small steps on left then right side, so that both side are tighened at the same time, small step by small step.

And you are right be very carefull at this stage, a lot of further issues can be avoided by being meticulous here.

I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
