Heatbed error

Hi all

Mk2s printer. I had a break in one of the power leads to the heatbed, which I repaired by soldering in a new section. The printer worked OK for a while after the repair, but during a print there was a click from the electronics box and the printer immediately stopped with the heatbed LED extinguished and a HEATBED ERROR message on the display. The 15A fuse is OK. The heatbed measures 1.1 ohms with the fuse removed. I put the fuse back in and everything seems to be working, but I'm worried that the printer might fail again at any time.

Any explanations/advice?

Tony

Re: Heatbed error

I think I would replace the whole cable. Solder tails to the board and use decent connectors like this: https://www.banggood.com/5Pcs-235-Pins-Reusable-Spring-Lever-Terminal-Block-Electric-Cable-Wire-Connector-p-1103030.html?rmmds=search&ID=511943&cur_warehouse=CN to connect new cable to the heater.

Make sure you use cable capable of 15 Amps and preferably with silicon insulation.
