Bed Thermal Runaway and ABS

We purchased a i3 MK2S Kit for work about 2-2.5 months ago. I assembled it, with no issues, and it calibrated perfectly. I've made maybe 15-20 parts so far, the first 3/4 of it being PLA, then switching over to ABS, and now I'm getting "Bed Thermal Runaway" stops. The first few ABS parts came out fine. I started a part last night, and received a "Bed Thermal Runaway". I restarted it, and the next part came out well, but this morning, I had it again. I read the previous forum posts, and off-site comments, and I've taken the bed off, inspecting everything; the wiring and thermistor all seem where they belong, with no damage. I opened the control box, and everything seems in place, as well. No melted connectors, cracked wires visible.

I'm using industrial-grade ABS (from one of our customers), so it's not cheap junk, and I'm using ABS juice before the parts. Any ideas? I haven't brought it up to the boss, but he's going to be pretty frustrated if it's not working two months in...

Thanks

Nathan

I forgot to mention...

- the fan is off, as this is ABS (come to think of it, I don't think it was running for PLA either. Hrmm...)

- this is taking place in a stable environment, 68°F all the time, no breezes.

- using Solidworks 2011 and the provided Slic3r.

With no obvious physical cause, try reloading the firmware in case that has become corrupted. I am also a great believer in 'slow it down and try again' as a general rule when a print goes wrong. Is the part you are failing on smaller or larger than previous successful prints?

That's the problem--I've been starting at 25%, so as not to allow dragging of the border across the part space. I've been working with 1.5-2" diameter parts. I just ran 12 - 1" parts, and that went ok, but when I had one of them, as well as a 3" diameter part in the center, it didn't work. Very frustrating. I'll try reflashing the firmware, and see how it goes.

I also have my personal MK3 hopefully on it's way to me this week, and I'll have the two side-by-side at work for a while, and we'll see how it goes. Worst case scenario, I'll have to RMA the board and bed, but I'll have our in-house electrician go over everything first.

Off-subject, I should have used my other forum account for this. Oh well.

Sometimes I have the same problem with ABS. The solution is enclosure. Mine is very simple - IKEA table with cardboard walls. And when the front "door" is open for a long time the Bed temperature starts fo fall. When it reach 94 (must be with 100) the printer shows the error.
