Bed thermal Runaway
Hi
I'm been printing for 6 months with no problems and now I'm getting Bed Thermal Runaway. I have noticed that the led where the cable connects to the bed doesn't always light up and when the happens the bed doesn't heat at all. I have removed the cover on the connection to the bed but the cables seem ok as they do with the connections to the PCB. I am wondering if I have a broken cable somewhere.
Is there anything else I should check?
Regards
Simon

Been there: Check this area of your wire.

Re: Bed thermal Runaway
thanks, I've checked the wire but it looks ok. just tested it out again and it seems to heat the bed ok now. I will try it again but it wants a recalibration before I go any further.
Did you have to replace the wires to heat bed to fix it?

Simon
Re: Bed thermal Runaway
In my case, I replaced the wires. I used 13ga/silicon, but I think those were much to large...14 might be closer to OEM (PR could not tell me what the correct gauge should be). One issue you will find is the connection at the RAMBO end. I did not have metal square conductor ends, so I just tinned the conductors at the RAMBO end and used pliers while solder was still warm to make the conductors square-ish. Seems to have worked for me.

Thanks I've ordered some new wire as it looks like when the heated bed is all the way forward the power to it cuts out. Thanks for your help
Re: Bed thermal Runaway
Just a warning. Don't operate the printer until the wires are replaced. You may cook your connector (cable shortage) or the temp sensor wires (partial cable damage).
