Bed Temperature Problem

Hello I own a Prusa I3 MK2 and the temperature for the printing bed will not go over 22 degrees. The bed feels warm in some areas but cold in others. I checked the bed connector but that does not appear to be the problem. The wiring also appears to be fine and me and my partner could not find anything wrong or out of place . Does anybody know what could possibly be causing the bed temperature to not go up? thanks in advance! 😀

Re: Bed Temperature Problem

If you feel the bed warming up but the temperature reading stays the same then likely the thermistor is at fault. First thing to check is whether the thermistor is properly in place under the bed, then check the two wires from the thermistor back to the Rambo board. Feel them with your fingers and see if you can find a break.

Second check is the connection of the bed power wires at the connection inside the Rambo, all along the length and at the solder connections on the bed itself.

If you have a multimeter, this can help you tracing the problem.

Re: Bed Temperature Problem

I have a similar issue out of a sudden:

My Prusa MK2S' bed is heating up only in the front area (front right). The rest of the bed stays cold / is heated only indirectly by the working areas. Therefore, the temperature reading is rising only very slowly, as the bed is not heating up in the spot where the thermistor sits. This is causing a bed preheating error.

How is it possible that the bed is hot (like, really hot!!!) in certain areas but stays cold in others?

Re: Bed Temperature Problem

Yeah my problem is similar to martinmajewskis problem. My Prusa bed heats up in certain areas to a fairly hot temperature but other areas on the bed remain cold, and the temperature rises very slowly and gives me the bed preheat error. What could the problem possible be?

Re: Bed Temperature Problem

Maybe check the voltage of the power supply and the voltage at the heat bed with a multimeter.
Maybe it dropped because of aging of the components

Re: Bed Temperature Problem

Maybe the heatbed PCB is defective after some replacement of the PEI-sheets ? I have scratched my heatbed and destroyed some wires in the PCB. So it's not heating at the whole surface.

Please check it with an IR-thermometer or an FLIR.
