bed preheat error
Hello,
I started using my MK2S a few days ago. Suddenly, I got this message : "Bed preheat error". The LED on the heatbed doesn't light anymore. I discovered that the power wires melted. So I checked the 3 fuses I saw on the electronic board : all of them are fine with about 0.4 Ohms. There is no voltage between the power wires for the heat bed.
I am not an electrician, so I have no clue of what to do.
If someone can give me an advice, it would be great.
Étienne.
Re: bed preheat error
Hello,
The support told me I had to change the wires and maybe the heatbed. It seems curious to me as there is no discontinuity in the wires and no short in them. I tested the heatbed with an heat gun : the thermistor works fine. And with a extern tension, the heatbed works fine as well, except the heatbed LED. So I'm thinking it's the electronic board which does have a problem. Am I right ?
Étienne.
Re: bed preheat error
Replace those wires. They are a fire waiting to happen. The reason they suggested replacing the bed is because that may have burnt the pad off the bed PCB and no longer be making proper contact.
Re: bed preheat error
Thank you for your explanations.
Have a nice day.
Re: bed preheat error
The resistance to the heatbed is too high, those washers should be ABOVE the wires, my good friend had the same problem.. Very important and I believe it's written in red in the manual
