Upgrade MK2 to MK2S
(long time ago) I bought the MK2 to MK2S upgrade kit. I got it with 100 g ABS-T filament. I read that there were many dicussions but I did not find a final conclusion. The gcode's are for PET-G filament. So my questions what are the last experiences?
- is it advised to print all the parts with the ABS-T material or is it better to replace it with PET-G?
- what are the best settings for the ABS-T
Just if anyone knows: Where do I get a good replacement for the heat-end parts (Prusa does not sell it in his shop)?
Thank you in advance
Stephan
Re: Upgrade MK2 to MK2S
I would use the original g-codes to print it, it is a good chance that everything will fit together. Now it is in PETG, before the gcodes were for ABS. So unless you have the old gcodes, you will have to use PETG now. Or slice it yourself. I think the settings for ABS were just standard Prusa profile.
Prusa does sell parts for hotend in the eshop, but only if you bought the original printer there. If you can not see the part there, ask the support through chat.
Milos.
Re: Upgrade MK2 to MK2S
Thank you very much, unfortunately I did not download the old g files. I think printing the parts with PETG is easier and better anyway.
Thank you and greetings

RE: Upgrade MK2 to MK2S
Hi!
I see that the mk2s upgrade are discontinued, which is unfortunate since I am going to upgrade to 2.5S and MMU2S.
I don't like the zip tie solution on the mk2.
Can I just print the plastic parts and use off the shelf parts for the hardware?
By the way I see that the X carriage is different in the 2.5S and the MMU2S, so my plan is to skip directly to MMU2S on the parts that are different. Is this an acceptable idea?
