Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE
Hi
Can the extruder mount be printed in PETG? (Rigid Ink)
Maybe this is a dumb question, apologies if so.
Thanks in advance for any comment.
Best regards to all
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE
➡ josefprusa mentioned that all parts could be printed in pla. but i don't know if it was ment in the same way that you can eat every mushroom (->at least once).
💡 to be honest: i would choose some filament with a higher vicat temperature, like petg, abs or even platec.
the cold-end (the cooling part of the hotend) is held by the extruder body... and it's temperature might rise above 54°C when something unforeseen happens.

Pretty nice!
Will the Mk2S be open source as well? I'd really like to print the new extruder mount with better Pinda holder.
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE
Yes, thanks for the link 🙂
I' start rebuild my 2d printer now ^^
I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE
Look like nearly all printed parts has changed in MK2S release - Do I need to print all to upgrade?
Some part changes must be more important than others (stability, precision...) - is there a list of the important ones?
Don't want to rebuild the complete printer 😉
Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE
I do not see changes for all the parts, for now I'm reprinting the most important parts:
these one as orange ABS:
And these one as black ABS: (I don't have black PETG that would be iso with the delivered printer):

Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
Hi guys,
devs released .stl version of new parts, you can download them, from Prusa GitHub. I've seen the link already above and I also added it to the first post.
https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/MK2S/Printed-Parts
Regarding used material majority of MK2 is printed from ABS ("orange" parts), the rest is from PETG ("black" parts). Especially for Extruder components I would use ABS or similar material, the temperatures inside this part are quite high during print, so you need something strong enough to resist them and PLA isn't the case 🙂
Regarding new parts there are more changes to the design however, the biggest are those described by Josef in the original article. I would personally focus on the new extruder parts, new RAMBO housing and then the mechanical parts.
Regarding Open-source to my knowledge there aren't any changes, so MK2S parts should be all available for download.
Let me know, how did your prints go and if you have any issues with the reassembly 😉

Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
The STL files don't work. I've tried to load them in Slic3r and Simplify3D and neither will successfully load. Simplify tells me that the parts are very small and scaled in inches.
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
I have the same problem of Ronnie with new STL....

I can see, there is some issue with downloading separate files, luckily there are two solutions:
1) Open each file and click Download or RAW
2) Download whole package (1,5 MB), see the picture below

Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
Anyone know the setting for the printed MK2S parts ?
Layer height ?
Infill percentage ?
Infill Type ?
Some of the component like Y-belt holder requires a lot of strength, is the setting different from the Rambo Cover ?
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
There will be .gcodes available soon, waiting for final approval 😉

Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
Ooooh boy... mk2s just got out the moment I got my kit. I am also waiting for my multi-material upgrade, wonder if mk2s upgrade will be included in the multi-material set as well considering the parts for mk2s is only smooth rods, u shaped screws only? (none printable parts)
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
I'm a bit confused. I saw the pictures of the new P.I.N.D.A Mount. So I made a fresh clone from with git from the repostiry but the flle extruder_body.stl is still the old one? Is the new file missing in the Repo?
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
There is a new branch named mk2s, you may be watching the mk2 branch.

Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
I'm watching the New Branch and the File hast also a New commit. Can someone Open the File an confirm?
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
If you are looking here: https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-i3/tree/MK2S/Printed-Parts/stl then these are all the NEW parts... Remember though that they may not be the final versions until they are signed off and zipped up for the site...
As you can see extruder_body.stl is the new version:

You have to specify the branch at the end 😉

Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
I printed my extruder body, in the end the pinda probe holder got peeled halfway of the print. nothing bad but it won't make the pinda probe as vertical as it can get. Gonna print the extruder body again with brim enabled
Re: ORIGINAL PRUSA I3 MK2S RELEASE (UPDATED)
Hi Sarf2k4,
try to clean your heatbed with IPA or Acetone and activate brim. ABS tends to warp and this should help your print to be successful 😉
