My i3 MK2S experince from first touch

II got very good opurtunity to get assembled i3mk2s printer. First I read manual an then chose "Frog" for first print from Prusa WEB page. I'm lucky generate G code print file and copy it to SD card. When inserted SD card to printer LCD print out that recognise SD card and then go inside the menu search how to print out data from the SD card. I'm spend all weekend reading manual and try with single SD card but no luck. Then I bought new SD card and I was lucky. Printer recognise SD card and inside menu apear on LCD display file on the card. Switch to preheat printer, confirm file and wait, wait, wait. I was familiar with menus but not pay a lot attention what was displayed on LCD. What happen printer warm up, calibrate, printhead was moved to the printing position an then temperature of bed drop down and printer counter numbers rise to 100% without actual print. But I'm try and try. In four weeks I print few samples when was very lucky. Then on LCD display apper warning sign, check printbead,. Warning was sometimes present sometimes not also happen when I'm go to the selftest rutine sometimes pass sometimes not. At the end I'm go in touch to Prusa support. We don't solve nothing. Support was also fast as snail mail. Meantime I'm check wireing, measure resistance of heater and sensor with help of hair dryer fan, check how sensor is glued. It sems all OK for me then Prusa told me that resistance of temperature sensor is to low and that couse the problem. At the end major and selfkilling problem appear. I'm switch printer on and nozzle heavy touch the print table and destroy the surface. LCD display print out check the end switch,... Now I have a lot of crap, wich will travel to the dust bin. I'm shure that printer destroy was not my human mistake. Printer was proper calibratet for first time. I guess that printer parts are from cheap source and bild quality is not high. I'm waiting to the final decision from Prusa side.

Re: My i3 MK2S experince from first touch

Hi Bojan

The Mk2 printer, although superseded is still a very good printer and most (if not all) of the issues you mention are simply user error and would be resolved by properly reading the manuals and help guides in conjunction with this forum search facility.

However, it would be easier to give proper advice if your problems were listed logically in a readable manner.

As you did not purchase the printer new from PR, there is no reason why they would have you listed in their support database and in that circumstance they would be reluctant to offer their support services. In any event, these forums are here to help and I am pretty certain that any queries you have will already be covered here.

Peter
