Ordered orange kit April 19th. Spoke with chat support last night requesting a estimated ship date and they told me this week.
Got my notification this morning (6/20/2017) that the label had been created and is ready for UPS pickup. For those having to deal with this painful wait below is a list that helped me get through it.
How I killed time waiting for my Prusa
1. Watched every 3D printing video I could find.
2. Watched build videos and read through the manual.
3. Started collecting items from thingiverse, myminifactory, etc...
4. Learned Fusion 360 and have created roughly 30 designs to fix things around the house.
5. Learned how to use MeshMixer
6. Learned how to use Slic3r, Cura, Simplify3D
7. Ordered a CR-10
8. Canceled order for CR-10
9 . Order Monoprice i3 Plus (Prime Shipping) - Wife is pissed!!!!
10. Order 3 IKEA Lack tables
11. Been printing, learning, and modding the i3 Plus for about 2 weeks.
12. Ordered roughly 20 spools of filament and signed up for the Maker Geek Box Subscripting.
I recommend anyone waiting to follow steps 1-6 (FYI, You don't need Simplify3D). Steps 7-11 only happened because I'm a 35 year old man child that doesn't like to wait. Step 12 is because I have a problem.
I love it. I will use this as a check list. I have been tempted to order that CR-10. I have many weeks to wait so figured if i like it maybe i would cancel my order (May 30th) keep going back and forth on that. Or have 2 and a pissed wife. I feel like every month I'm dropping 1K on toys. I like to stock up and purchased only a few spools and have a few in my cart. You have me thinking i need more, its been a light month for toys and the wife has almost forgot about the printer... If i buy 20 spools i will need to buy her a hand bag. I am new to printing so is 10 spools enough? newb question and one that it tough to answer but how many prints do you get from a spool? maybe how many benchies per spool? or that dragon thing that i see a lot of prints of?

I Ordered mine on the 4th of may, and i followed your steps with different order

2 . Order Wanhao i3 Plus (same day Shipping localy) - Wife is pissed!!!!

4. Started printing and failing and getting pissed and learning

8 . Order Original Prusa i3 - Wife is realy pissed now!!!!
9. Been printing, learning, and modding the i3 Plus for about 2 weeks.
10. i went through roughly 10 spools of filament and ordered 20 more.
11. buying 3 IKEA Lack tables tomorrow
and still the wait is killing me. 💡
12. watched upgrade videos till i cant watch no more
13. order parts to upgrade the Wanhao i3 plus.(every thing, main board, buildplate, proximity sensor, i am keeping the nema's for now).
14. thinking of building my own now Prusa hurry up or i will be put in an asylum. 😀
This will need to be merged with the other list. 10 + 20 rolls I'm starting to think i need more spools now...

I just kept buying a spool every time I found some on sale. I didn't really care was color it was since I had none. Soon I learned that filament is always on sale somewhere.

I am so glad to hear that I am not alone reading these recent posts. Since Seemecnc is 20 min away with a sale every week I would probably have 50 rolls of filament by now and a super pissed wife. Can't wait till my kit ships next week.
Now how to tell the wife I also have an Anet A8 on the way too... hmmm. Suggestions?

I pretty much have the same play every time. I bug my wife about it for a few weeks till she says " Just buy the damn thing so you will leave me alone.

😮 Proof that Jo Prusa is working on the new TTU (Time Travel Upgrade) so that we don't have to wait hours for prints to finish! Expected to ship May 2090, pre-orders soon.

Im with you 🙂 I (partially) ordered a kit as it had 5 weeks less lead time, though to be fair I've played around with the 3D printers at work and wanted to gain more experience/knowledge by putting a kit together. So impatient!

I ordered an orange kit on April 20th because the lead time was less for a kit. I almost want to cancel it now.

"In Transit" just means shipping label created. Actual pickup by UPS can be much later...
I hope they don't use the shipping label as a way to calm down "angry" customers...

So, with the new shipping table, assembled unit will ship within 3 weeks..... and the kit now has 8 weeks lead time.
WTF, where the hell is the balance?!? It looks like Prusa is getting greedy and trying to steer people to pay more for the time. It's like free mobile game, buy gems so you can build your building faster.
Classic, very frustrated and disappointed.

I am in full agreement. Why are kits being being delayed for the full assembled to get out? My kit was delayed a week already from original time. Wish now I never saw the updated schedule and hope my kit ships next week according to current schedule.

I can confirm this is not the case. Mine was picked up by UPS in the evening (around 20:00 local time I think). It's currently on its way through Germany to Sweden.
