Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

I just turned 47 this week and my MK2s is supposed to ship around June 19th with an order date of April 30. Why is it I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to arrive!

I'm 48 and felt exactly the same way. I received my printer last week and took time off to have a 4 day weekend to build and play with it 😀
LOL, my boss gave me a "take a day off without using a Sick or Vacation Day" card to pull so I told him upon receiving my confirmed shipment day that I will be out this Friday and next week is my scheduled 1 week vacation which gives me more than enough time to get close and personal with my new toy 😉

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

This is so fracking funny. I'm 48. Just had my birthday Yesterday. I ordered April 15th hoping to have it here for my birthday build. I also have been refreshing my email non stop since I placed the order. It think its funny that this printer has me feeling like a little kid waiting for Christmas. 😀 :ugeek:

A few days ago they told me that it would ship end of this week or definitely the beginning of next week. Orange Kit with no extras. So fingers crossed.

We can see that their print farm is now up to 230 from185 machines and growing as we speak. I think the goal is 360. Lets all remember that all MMU kits started to go out this month also. Joe said 1000 MMU units will ship this month. So I understand they are swamped and spitting out multiple kits as fast as they can. I'm going to cut them some slack on my order and not pester them. But I do hope when I order my 2nd kit, in the near future (Christmas sounds good), the wait will be 2 days 😆 I think both direct drive and multi material Prusas will be a must in my maker lab. Time to hire another 50 people Joe.

I'll let the forum know when my April 15th kit ships.

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

Congrats to you guys with printers on the way or received! Good luck with your builds!

Since this Friday is the 7 week mark I'll start squeaking after that 🙂 I'm moving at the end of the month so I'm wondering if it will make it out for delivery to my old address before the end of the month or if I have to contact Prusa to update my shipping address.

For the benefit of others browsing the forum I'll keep updating with any actions on my order and I hope folks keep updating the thread with their shipping timelines!

Also, just saw a tweet from Josef: https://twitter.com/josefprusa/status/874817983192997888 . I guess they are prioritizing the assembled printers which is why we're seeing some people post that their mid-May orders have already shipped. Probably all hands on-deck building printers for orders and the new print farm, but I wish they would update those of us in the queue that ordered kits!!

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

Shifting priorities is fine... as long as the (at the time of ordering) "promised" delivery times are not negatively influenced.

What I mean is that it's unfair when kits shift to 10 weeks (instead of the promised 7) so that the assembled printers can ship within just 4 weeks.

Well ... I ordered a kit 😉

Well, I guess paying for Express Saver is worth it. They finally shipped my order after making a new shipping label and voiding the old one. It has an scheduled delivery date of tomorrow between 1:15 P.M. - 5:15 P.M.

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

Support just confirmed they are up to 14 days behind on the kit lead times (so up to 9 weeks from 7 I guess). The wait continues 😥

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

This order was for the kit

I also have an MM upgrade on a seperate order but no status on that. Could be a while for that me thinks.

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

Hi,

I have just asked in the Prusa Research chat about the strange logic that they are following, sending the kits and the assembled printers.
They denied to know about assembled printers shipped earlier or about people that ordered kits, still waiting long after the stated delivery date.

In my case I'm still inside the declared time interval, I have ordered on May 9th an orange/black MK2S kit.

After giving them my order number, they told me that they are "planning to pack and ship my kit during the last days of June" and that they will "send me a confirmation email with tracking number, when my order will leave their office": in this case this would be OK, being the expected delivery date July 3rd.

That's really weird, Josef himself even confirmed it in a tweet and there's several people in here saying they have got their assembled printers with order dates weeks after the order dates for kits that still haven't been sent out. When I talked to support yesterday they confirmed up to 14 days delay on kit lead times as well.

Maybe that not everybody on the chat support has the same knowledge level about the delivery situation as Josef, or they have this official statement to keep calm the customers. 🙂

I find that customers waiting for the first printer should have a little higher priority as customers that order an upgrade kit.
At least I could be more patient waiting for an upgrade, if I had already a MK2 printer at home...

Keep calm and carry on waiting ... 🙂

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

Well here is an update on my package's journey. My luck first begins with a filament order I placed so I could have a couple of spools upon receiving the mk2. Here is how that package went:

Now of course my luck has to continue on with my Prusa Mk2 package as well: 😡

Looks like I won't have it this weekend. May the journey continue, I hope she gets to me safe.

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

Surprised mine showed up MUCH sooner than expected. Ordered assembled black/orange printer on May 12. Received in Illinois, USA, on June 14.

Re: Did everyone get their orders on time?

I ordered on April 26th, with my original 7 week date having past I am seriously considering cancelling my order and getting something like a CR-10 instead and then upgrading parts as needed.

This is my first printer of my own but I have worked on others in the past, and I am sure I have enough mechanical and electrical aptitude to deal with most of the printer kits on the market.

I really wanted to support Prusa directly since he's given so much to the RepRap community.

But the poor updates on wait times and sudden improvement in assembled kit leadtimes without a corresponding improvement in the kits are a big downer.

Also I've noted that there are quite a few threads in the forums with tweaks that are needed to the MK2(S) beyond the original kit instructions to really get it dialed in......so I am not sure that my experience will be that much better to justify the added cost.
