How are orders jumping the queue?

A few things I've learn in my 2 months checking and rechecking this forum 😉

Things that can effect shipping::
Orange vs Black (Black is usually longer, but sometimes they suddenly catch up)
Kit vs Assembled (strangely they seem to be able to have more assembled than kits at times??)
Add On Items (if anything is back-ordered, it can delay the whole shipment)
Josef's Signature, apparently you can request Jo sign the frame which can add time (if he's not around)

I've thought this before when I saw people 'jumping ahead', only to realize we hadn't ordered 'the same' thing(s). You'd think kits would always ship before assembled, or that black is always trailing behind orange, but that's not always the case.

My package was picked up by UPS yesterday. According to UPS, my printer is still in Czech. and still shuffling around customs. The main difference, since yesterday the UPS data on my package has updated 7 times I'm not closer to having it, but I feel informed and feel like I'll know when it does move.

On the other Hand, i ordered what should have the shortest Leadtime, Black and orange Kit, on April 13.
At that Time the Chart showed me an estimate of "from May 29" wich jumped to "from June 5" at some time.

Chat told me today i´ll have to wait at least another Week.
So i went from 7 to 8 to 9-10 Weeks.

This wouldn´t be too frustrating if i hadn´t read from arrived Orders for the same Kit placed later than i had.
It just has that "We don´t care too much" smell...

That is the million dollar question.

My only guess is that it's related to any "extras" you may have ordered with your printer. I ordered April 9th, but it's been crickets since then. I did add a couple of rolls of filament because I was paying for shipping anyway. Maybe one is out of stock now? It would be good to at least know that.

That might be, but in my case I ordered no extras and deliberately picked the item listed with the shortest lead time. ❓

See I ordered April 16th Orange and Black Kit, then added a single extra PEI sheet on May 23rd. I am hoping I do not lose my spot in the queue for making a change to my original order... 😯

Mine after Germany, it went to China then Singapore. Yours should be straight to US.

9 to 10 weeks is for assembled version already.

I ordered Orange Kit on 8th of April (no extras except of free filament with the kit) and I am still waiting. In my case it is definitely behind the schedule. 😥

BTW. Status of my order is "FIO - PAID". Does anyone know what "FIO" stands for?

I'm just guessing, but FIO means 'wire' in spanish....did you pay by wire transfer?

FIO could also mean "Figured It Out" and that its paid...

"Fio banka" is a czech Bank. I guess that is where Prusa Research has his account.

Ordered on April 4th, just got tracking #. Was expecting it to ship last week, I'm in BC Canada.

My bad. I just checked my CC. I didn't place my order on the 10th of April, I place it on the 5th of April.

So how are orders placed on the 19th, 2 weeks later, already going out?

I'm also on the east cost and ordered orange and black kit on April 19th. Maybe I will get a notification soon.

They may write every order on a small Note, throw them in a Bucket and pick some out during Lunchbreak to ship them competently out of Order just for Sh***ts and Giggles...
