Y Axis - Blocked ??
Hi,
My printer has been mounted for a week but I still can't calibrate it. I realize tonight that I have a problem on the Y axis. On the way back everything is ok but at first, we get the impression that something is blocking. I watched and nothing blocked anywhere. I am a little lost...
Someone can help me ?
Re: Y Axis - Blocked ??
Well something is obviously rubbing enough to cause the Y axis to do that.
Check alignment of the pulley/idler. Check to see if there is anything catching on the frame (rear cables from the bed heater?) and check that the Y motor pulley is not too close to the motor body. There should be about a 4mm gap between pulley and motor body.

Re: Y Axis - Blocked ??
In the final stages of assembly of my printer, I manually moved the axis around to check for any crash points (cables/zipties/etc) and found that the ziptie heads holding the linear bearings on the Y-axis smooth rods were aligned in a way that was preventing movement. I adjusted them so that they wouldn't crash on the V shaped cutouts the bearings pass through on the frame, and that solved my problem.
