X axis carriage doesn't fit into the x axis (kit)
When I put the x carriage on the rods, it stretches the rods by approximately 2mm which causes the stepper motor to skip and being unable to reach the endstop. Cleared the margin printed parts where the rods fit in and they go all the way in. Measured the distance between the bearings on left and right ends and the measurements doesn't match the distance between bearings in the x carriage. Is the x carriage printed part defective?
Re: X axis carriage doesn't fit into the x axis (kit)
😯 that's pretty curious !
💡 seems that there is a dimensional inaccuracy of the x-carriage. like as if somebody compensated the abs shrinkage twice...
➡ i'm going to check my distances later on, when i'm back at home.

Re: X axis carriage doesn't fit into the x axis (kit)
➡ ok, i just measured the distances at the left, the right and the x-carriage.
at the x-carriage i've gap of 36.68mm between the rods, at the right and left x-end i've got 36.75mm.
i checked my bearings with exactly 15.00mm and the rods with 8.00mm.
so to compare your measurement (between the bearings) with mine (between the rods), i can deliver following values:
29.75mm @ x-end idler
29.75mm @ x-end motor
29.68mm @ x-carriage
❓ btw: did you change the pictures meanwhile ? i'm pretty sure that i could read your measuring at the lcd of the vernier calliper when watching your post at my office.
➡ anyhow: just check that the bearings have "clicked" correctly into the x-carriage. i guess something is blocking their proper assembly.

Re: X axis carriage doesn't fit into the x axis (kit)
Thanks for checking this for me!
I haven't changed the photos, it might be some difference in brightness between work/home monitors.
I've mounted and then unmounted the x carriage more than 3 times to make sure everything snaps in. Although, when it snaps in, it gets wider. So it's definitely a defective part. Will try to print the x carriage part somewhere in my local city.
Thanks again!

💡 thanks for that info, so i was able to check my hdmi-monitor settings here... and i noticed that it was configured for tv stuff (sRGB 16-255 instead of sRGB 0-255)... so the callipers display of the first and the last measurement was nearly black.
