Having trouble calibrating XYZ (Printer is looking too far forward for the points)

Hi everyone,

I have just built my i3 MK2, and I am having a slight problem. When I try to calibrate XYZ it fails. Sometimes on the first, sometimes on the second and once on the third calibration point. On each of these failures the PINDA probe has been looking a little too far in front of the points in the bed. (I know this because there are slight circles on the bed in 9 spots, and I assume these are calibration spots).

http://imgur.com/a/zc6xu This is a description of what my problem is, I'm kind of confused on what to do next. Thanks so much for the help guys!

It searches back and forth on that calibration, I would start with pinda probe height. If you are from USA then lower the hotend to the bed then use a dime under the probe to set it's height. Try that and calibrate again

I tried this and adjusted the PINDA height as you suggested. When I went to do the calibration the nozzle immediately went all the way down and scratched the bed slightly. I want the PINDA probe to be slightly higher than the hotend, right?

Edit: As per the manual I put the PINDA probe slightly lower so the hotend would not scratch the bed. But that is where the probe was originally, so I think we're back to the first problem.

I keep seeing it fail to find the point because it is looking too far in front of it. I'm pretty sure something is not aligned right, but I'm not sure what. I'm lost on what to do from here.

The only thing I can think is that the 100mm gap between the rear legs and the frame is actually more than 100mm, it would then start searching further forward.
The pinda alignment shouldn't have made the hotend touch the bed. Using the coin under the pinda whilst the hotend is just touching the bed is just about the right distance, it's about the same as the alignment tool you can print also.

I would check the 100mm first though and maybe the placement of the end stop switch that sits above the stepper motor.
