First layer problem after changing to 0.25mm nozzle

Hi.

I changed the nozzle on my MK2S from the standard 0.4mm nozzle to a E3D 0.25mm nozzle.
And this is the result regarding the first layer.

Before I changed the nozzle the first layer was almost perfect. But after the change this is the crappy result.

Any ideas what I could change? And Live-Z is not an option (already tried that). I use the MK2 0.25mm Slic3r PE 1.40.1 standard settings.

One thing I saw as a different between the 0.4 and 0.25 settings is that the first layer extrusion width for 0.4 is smaller than the default extrusion width where as for the 0.25 those two settings are the same.

What can I do to fix this?

Greetings
Christoph/Saij

Just to confirm : you did re-slice that square before printing, right? This was gcode generated for that nozzle size?

Yes. Specially sliced it for this nozzle size.

It looks massively over-extruded. Slic3r is pretty good about not hiding settings. You might want to look at the gcode for anything odd. If you post it, I'd be happy to give it a look. I'm using a 0.25mm nozzle on my MK3 with great results using Slic3rPE.

Did you get decent Live-Z results, or is this the result?

I've attached the G-Code. But it's sliced for the MK2S - not the MK3. But I've also attached a version sliced for MK3.

That's the best result for the live-z I've got for this nozzle.
For the 0.4mm nozzle this live-z was the best and the result looks great.

The gcode looks OK. No worries on the printer. I was just reading through the gcode, not printing it. Depending on your nozzle, the Live-Z may need to be significantly different. If that pic is your live Z test, I'd start by raising it (make less negative) significantly.

Just did some testing with the first layer extrusion width. If I set it to 0.33mm the first layer looks really nice.
But will also try an recalibrate live-z tomorrow.

Do you have specific extrusion widths configured in Slic3r? I've got all mine set to 0 so Slic3r calculates them based on nozzle size.

Yeah. The standard Prusa Profiles have them filled out.
