I've been struggling with OctoPi all day and don't know how to fix it.

My printer's SD card slot went out a few days ago, so I've been trying to set up Octoprint again. I'm using a Raspberry Pi B+. It's not as powerful as one of the newer ones, but it works as long as I don't have a webcam set up.

I got it up and running, but none of the options for downloading plugins would work. When I tried to download a plugin online it would say, can't download from any. And when I tried to upload a plugin from my computer, it would say the command arrived with exit status 1.

I finally gave up trying to use that install and tried to do a fresh install of OctoPi. I used the Raspberry Pi imager to reinstall it. When I got it set up again, I entered a different DNS server, but it was already a different DNS server. And all my other settings were the same.

I put it back in my computer and formatted it with windows, but the same thing happened again. I did different variations of formatting for a few hours, but none of it worked.

The last think I tried was to download Raspberry Pi OS, planning to install OctoPrint manually. I thought might have been working, because it was taking a lot longer to download. But when I plugged it in and looked at it, it was STILL OctoPI! The same OctoPi!

So I've wasted a whole day and still have no clue what to do.

Do you use a microSD-to-SD card adapter with the little write protect slider engaged when you format the card or write the image? The same can happen under Linux when the SD card is auto-mounted and you do not unmount the drive before you write to the card. The original content will not get overwritten then.
