Diagonal stripes/ridges on large vertical surfaces
I'm having an issue where my prints, such as boxes, that have a vertical wall on the side, get diagonal ridges repeating across the whole face. So it is happening when the bed is moving. The front and back of the box are fine because the X carriage is doing the moving. It seems to have started after I upgraded to a 2.5, but not sure it is the printer or is it a firmware issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Greg
Re: Diagonal stripes/ridges on large vertical surfaces
I've had a similar problem and was easily fixed, Another forum had told me that you should first try increasing the number of perimeters of your print because your pictures look like it is in infill pattern
Of course for me that hadn't worked because it was a hardware issue, I removed the screws holding down the heated PCB and loosened all 3 of the bearings holing on the black plate and removed the plate, Possibly optional at this point would be to oil your bearings as well. After you are done be sure that there is nothing inside of the bearings or that they are broken by sliding them back and forth along the ENTIRE axis, if there are any bumps or skips in the movement it's probably time for new bearings, check the assembly instructions for any special alignment of the bearings and their orintation, the manuals also say how tight the U bolts should be. If this doesn't work maybe a picture of a box printed at a 45 might help?
