Z axis tilting issue
Having an issue with the two sides not being level.
this is happening during printing and calibration.
Thoughts on why it could be happening?
RE: Z axis tilting issue
I Have a video of calibration and how badly it goes out
RE: Z axis tilting issue
Raise the X axis all the way to the top of the Z axis, until both Z motors stall, and the X axis should become parallel to the bed
the spirit level is n0t a good test

RE: Z axis tilting issue
@joantabb
Thanks but that is shown in the video.
Both sides are raised to be level.
Afterwhich it lowers starts to calibrate and then tilts
RE: Z axis tilting issue
Unfortunately I could not get the video to work.
One possibility is that the Z motor Bearing covers have been screwed down a little too far, and are jamming...
See Step 3 of the Z axis assembly guide, at https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/4-z-axis-assembly_168629
Loosening the covers, and / or Lubing them a tiny bit may help
Have the Linear bearings been lubricated?
It's difficult to test smooth movement of the Z axis with the Pom Nuts fastened tot he Z leadscrews.
You could drive the Z axis about 80% of the way up, Support the Extruder, then , undo the screws holding the Pom Nuts in Place, and then try moving the X carriage Up and down, to see if there is any jamming. when finished, re fix the Pom Nuts.
there is a small possibility that one of the Z motor wires is damaged
there is a small possibility that one of the Z motors is faulty
I have seen one instance where the X belt Idler mounting screw had been screwed in so far, that it scraped on the main frame. it's unlikely o be an issue, but easy to check...
Good luck,
Joan

- Have not tried to covers yet, I'll try that today.
- Linear bearings have been removed cleaned and lubricated yes, still the same issue.
- Wires are not damaged.
- both motors do move up and down, there is a possibility that one is moving faster so it could be faulty, hard to test exactly though.
- The X belt idler mounting screw is not scrapping on the main frame

Thanks Joan,
looks like it was a cover that was causing the issues.
