Thermal Drop-Out
Is anyone having issues with the 2.5 holding temperature. I found that I can no longer print with PETG from Prusa because the temp drops from 230 to 199 off and on during the print causing the filament to stop flowing from the extruder and leaving gaps in the prints. However, the PLA prints OK with only a few drop-outs from 215 to 199 but the filament continues to flow with just a few lines of failure. Have talked with Martin at Prusa Support and they seem to be as baffled as I am and only can say that I have a heater issue that I already knew is why I called them. I am using the current firmware, software and Slic3rPE and have been since day one. Moving the cables around during printing does not seem to cause the drop-out condition. Voltage to heater from Rambo is 11.87 VDC and resistance to the thermistor is 4.2 ohms. I have cleaned the connections but the drop-out still remains at 199 from 215(PLA) and 230(PETG). Any assistance in correcting this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Thermal Drop-Out
Well, problem solved. Took all day to track down the simplest solution. I was looking thru the 2.5 menu to see if there was something I had missed. I ran across "Temperature Calibration". I don't know what it does or why it is there. I do remember it was off when I did the 2.5 upgrade, but today it was on. I know I didn't turn it on and there is no one else here that could. The only thing that I have done recently was download the new Slic3r and 3.4.1-1356 for the printer. Have had no other issues since the upgrade and have no other answer. The attachments show normal printing temperatures for PETG and no more filament stoppage due to a temperature drop-off. The printer and I are happy again. If anyone knows why the "Temperature Calibration" is in the menu and what it is used for, please drop me a line or two so that I can understand what should be done with it or how it is used I will greatly appreciate the guidance.
