I know it isn't a real solution, but using something like OctoPrint would solve your problem and would be less work than rewiring the button, provided you have a raspberry lying around.

That describes it pretty well. I have learned to make a mental note of the expected print time of the file I want, and if it changes when I press the lever, i stop it. But it often does the same thing again. ( I wonder what would happen if i rewired that lever/switch, and replaced the switch function with a push button. . .) Actually I have not been experiencing the glitch recently.

I'm not sure if its the same problem, but I remember that sometimes when you press the button to start the print it can scroll down to the next file and then register the button press, like an interface issue, if you are aware of it you will notice the selection visually and stop the print.

Same here, I just started having this issue.

I believe it started after crashing the printer into a brass brush, that i use to clean the nozzle. It kind of got wedged in between the bed and the nozzle, some sparks flew, because it touched the thermistor wires. Not sure if that may have caused a shock to the PCB...

But keeping the sd-card clean is the way to go for now.
I'll also try to reset the firmware and hope that will solve it.

Did anybody have any sucess so far in getting rid of this irritating problem?

2026 and I still have this issue. Mk3s running 3.14. Using Cura. Anyone have a fix? Super annoying

I have renamed the old file to Special GF Baseplate 4x4 4x1 22mm padding_0.2mm_PETG_MK3S_2h3m and will try again.

After renaming the old file, the new file printed correctly. So this is definitely some kind of bug.

The same thing happened to me today with my MK3S, two times in a row. The first time, I thought it was my mistake. The second time, I am sure it was not. I selected this new file to print:

GF Baseplate 4x5 4x1 connectable_0.2mm_PETG_MK3S_2h34m

Instead, it printed (twice!) this file that was older with a similar name:

GF Baseplate 4x4 4x1 22mm padding_0.2mm_PETG_MK3S_2h3m

I have renamed the old file to Special GF Baseplate 4x4 4x1 22mm padding_0.2mm_PETG_MK3S_2h3m and will try again.

Both files were generated with PrusaSlicer 2.9.2 and the firmware version is 3.14.1-8327

I also have this issue. It seems to occur when the number of files on the SD card is above a certain count. So cleaning the SD card before save a new gcode file on it seems to be the only foolproof solution at this moment.

Too bad Prusa hasn't posted an anwer on this yet.

Yeah same issue here with my MK3S+ with firmware 3.14.1 except I am using CURA. Happens a lot and I also have to format my card a lot. Today I noticed it was also the 3rd in the list that it prints instead of the 1st.
