High Pitched Squeal from Heat Bed

I recently upgraded my mk2s to a mk2.5s and it now makes a horrible high pitched squeak as soon as the heat bed starts to heat up. Has anyone else had a similar experience? It is so bad that it essentially makes the printer unusable.

Here is a video of the issue. There's another printer running nearby but you can still hear the squealing as soon as I start to preheat and it stops as soon as I hit the x.

After talking to support and working through a few things, including a self-test, it seems like the issue is with the PSU.

Interesting. I noticed the same on upgrading to 3.7.1. on my Mk3. Did they send you a new PSU or tell you not to worry?

My printer is out of warranty so I just bought a new PSU. Apparently something is wrong with the coils. I found someone else who said a similar thing happened to them. Ordering a new PSU is annoying, but not as annoying as that horrible squeaking!

They did have me try downgrading the firmware first so you might try that before ordering a new PSU!

Thanks. My Mk3 is still under warranty so I wanted to know if I should be worried. At least in my case downgrading could also be problematic as the PWM change that caused this was to avoid having the einsy suffer heat related failures.

They definitely seemed like they were willing to replace the PSU if it was in warranty so it might just be worth asking.

Yeah, I have a video in one of my other threads; I will forward and ask them whether I should be concerned or not. :+1:
