Endstops - Wiring error Z
When starting a new print, during the pre-print test, I experienced this message "Endstops - wiring error Z" and then the print does not run (yesterday an 11 hours print and this morning an 4 hours print wwhithout any problems - the printer is not new and is used every day).
I tried to find a solution by 1) run the self test, but same error message, 2) run factory reset + firmaware update, but same error mesage, 3) check the connections to main board but noproblem found.
Should you have any advise or solution ? Thanks
Pascal.
RE: Endstops - Wiring error Z
the Z endstop is the 'Pinda sensor'
does the Red LED light show, in the top of the pinda, when the pinda is in mid air?
Does the red light go out when you bring a piece of metal, to the bottom of the pinda?
does the sensor status LCD show a change of status between when the red light is showing, and when the red light is not showing?
If you hold a piece of metal against the bottom of the pinda, and wiggle the extruder cable bundle behind the extruder does either the status display, or the red led change?
Most common issue, is a break in the Pinda wiring, due to continuous flexing, causing metal fatigue in the pinda wire.
I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
RE: Endstops - Wiring error Z
Thanks for this solution - and you seems to be right - Moving the whole extruder cable make the light goes on /off and when moving a piece of metal at the bottom show it react.
I will begin by the wire replacement as you show, but maybe replace PINDA probe.
Thanks a lot
