Prusa MK2.5 - Overall Impressions?

I'm currently building/upgrading my MK2S to the MK2.5.

What does everyone think about the upgrade? Worthwhile? I haven't seen much feedback from the users. Curious about speed, consistency, quality, easy of use.

Are there any features found on the MK3 that you really wish you had on the MK2.5?

For me it's been totally worth it, except for the filament sensor (which is basically useless but hopefully that will be fixed with the S upgrade).
The build plate is awesome, speed is increased, noise is reduced. Also no more fiddling with Z height due to temperature differences and it's a lot less finicky when swapping to different materials.
Can't say I miss anything, blackouts happen every few years around here and I don't see a drawback using endstops in everyday use. Probably the MK3 runs quieter, but the MK2.5 is quite acceptable in terms of noise.

I had very few issues with the 2.5 upgrade when I completed it some time back. It was definitely a worthy upgrade for all the reasons the upgrade package description lists. As mentioned by nils.t, my only problem was with the filament sensor on a couple of my filament brands triggering false positives on me. It's been a great printer otherwise. I can't comment as much on the noise, since I switched to igus bearings quite a while ago. It's definitely still louder than a MK3 (my workplace has a MK3), but it's still plenty quiet for the out-of-the-way location mine is sitting at.

I just finished the upgrade to the 2.5S over the weekend. First test print came out great. Haven't put it through much yet, but it's a minor update compared to 2 => 2.5. Still a great printer, with little down-time. I have developed some problem with the XYZ calibration between my upgrades. It currently fails after the fourth point, but I can still do a standard Z calibration and print from there without problems. Hasn't been worth my time to try to re-tweak the frame just for that.

I ran into the same problem. Tweaked the frame until it was near perfect and it still wouldn't find the third or fourth calibration point. The answer was to switch to high power during calibration. Now it's running perfectly 🙂

Good to know! I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight.
