RE: New printed parts C1/R4 - MK3S/MK2.5S/MMU2S

I am doing a Mk2 -> Mk2.5S upgrade and will be replacing the belts at the same time.  Are the new Y-belt holder and tensioner compatible with the Mk2 era Y carriage?  It would make the tensioning far easier.

RE: New printed parts C1/R4 - MK3S/MK2.5S/MMU2S

Sorry to resurrect, but just found this after signing up to be notified when the files were available again for taking my MK3 to the upgraded MK3S.

So is this the same file set that was available for download (for a price on the site) which is now just simply available to print and install ourselves?  ust want to make sure I'm not confusing this with what I am looking for, as I'm still relatively new to 3d printing.

Does it have to be PETG material?

In the 5 years I have been here, Prusa have not charged for the STL's or Gcodes for Printer parts.

you should find what you are looking for on the Page linked below

https://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts/

if you want Printed Parts, Prusa can supply some at a uniform cost per item, plus delivery

So... this is what I was asking about. That looks like it to me, for either self printed parts or parts from them.

RE: New printed parts C1/R4 - MK3S/MK2.5S/MMU2S

If the upgrade from Mk3 to Mk3S becomes available, it is likely there will be two options again...

I actually ordered mine Pre Printed, so I got the C series parts, If I had Printed them Myself I would have used the link I showed above...

and this would have been marked Rxx     to differentiate between Factory printed and Home Printed...

Prusa reccommend

RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS:

0.2 mm layer height, infill 20% GRID and material PETG.

We recommend using black filament to print all MK3S and MK2.5S extruder parts. If you want different color, you can use it, but the FS-lever part should be definitely dark (black) and the other parts surrounding the IR-Sensor as well. In case you use any lighter colour for the FS-lever it might not trigger the sensor.

License GNU GPL v3.

You can read more about MK3S/MK2.5S/MMU2S upgrades in this article on our forum.

Ok, well my question still hasn't been answered.

All I asked was is the link I gave, and the one in the original post the same thing, or are they two different things to download.

That is the hardware upgrade parts. It lists the contents on the listing. It also includes 300g of PETG which you will use to print some upgrade parts using tech STLs. Those STLs are free and available on the Prusa3d site.

Don't forget the part about using ASA filament for the nozzle shroud.

@pcweber

I print my shrouds with Polycarbonate or PC Blend.

They come out great with:

  1. Polymaker PolyMax PC
  2. 3DXMAX PC-ABD Blend
  3. Prusament PC Blend

Does it matter which surface is used to print extruder parts on-- textured or smooth?

@pixelman

they will work on either build plate, but since the introduction of textured build plates, most folk seem to prefer the visual effect of the Textured  build plate

RE: New printed parts C1/R4 - MK3S/MK2.5S/MMU2S

@joantabb

I agree with you Joan to a point. The extruder parts that mate and are built on the build plate would be better off on the smooth plate. Any parts that do not mate another on the print side make no real difference. The other side of the coin is that Petg warps less on the textured plate, but with a little window cleaner the smooth plate does okay.

Are the original parts from Prusa printed on smooth or textured?

RE: New printed parts C1/R4 - MK3S/MK2.5S/MMU2S

before textured was created, prusa used smooth PEI, since then they have used Textured. Prusa used Textured for Months, and months, before textured build plates became available to external users...

@joantabb sorry for the confusion, I should have been clearer that I meant that the item was missing from the list on @jakub-dolezal-2 's first post in this thread. I noticed it when I was double checking I had printed everything before disassembling my printer.

The STL files for both the upper and lower cover are included in the download correctly ( https://www.prusa3d.com/downloads/others/MK2toMK25S_upgrade_stl.zip ) .

LCD-cover-ORIGINAL-MK3.stl is not exactly like the MK3S/+ LCD cover

the stl file's cutout window (rectangle) is larger by about 5mm in length, width is the same though.
