Extruder skipping
I have a mk2.5s that I recently started having problems with extrusion. I went ahead and bought a e3d v6 gold to fix any problems because I was putting customers on hold while it was down. I replaced everything with the new from e3d, and after 1 print I started having extrusion issues again. The prints will start like normal and then during the first layer the extruder will start clicking ( skipping) and the print will fail. I have had a few prints work but when the prints are done they are not usable. I had 1 print work fine for 20hr then failed in the last hour. I made sure the v6 was assembled correctly, I know the bondtech gears are aligned and tensioned. I replaced all PTFE tubes when I changed my hotend. I have never had a problem like this before and its costing me. Any suggestions would be wonderful.
RE: Extruder skipping
So the "clicking" is the gears skipping on the filament. There really are only a few possibilities. First, make sure your extruder temps are high enough. If its too cool, filament won't extrude. Try the middle of the recommended range. Generally the MK2.5S needs a bit higher than minimum. Second, make sure your not printing too fast. You may be exceeding the rate you can extrude and the heater can't melt the filament fast enough. If you have increased any default speeds, I'd set them back. Third, its possible the tension screw is not tight enough, and this is the likely cause if the above are not a problem. Finally, its possible your extruder current or voltage is too low. Probably not but possible if you have tried everything else.
