Upgrade MK2S to MK2.5S - Wrong temps in predefined gcodes?
Hello.
I have a kit that was purchased over a year ago, and I finally got around to start the upgrade 🙂
One thing I noticed, is that the predefined temps in two of the files seems to be for PLA, not the PETG-roll that comes with the kit?
MK2toMK25S_extruder_part1_PET_8H_43MIN.gcode temp settings:
M104 S215 ; set extruder temp
M140 S60 ; set bed temp
M190 S60 ; wait for bed temp
M109 S215 ; wait for extruder temp
MK2toMK25S_extruder_part2_PET_1H58MIN.gcode temp settings:
M104 S215 ; set extruder temp
M140 S60 ; set bed temp
M190 S60 ; wait for bed temp
M109 S215 ; wait for extruder temp
MK2toMK25S_RAMBo_parts_PETG_8H.gcode temp settings:
M104 S230 ; set extruder temp
M140 S85 ; set bed temp
M190 S85 ; wait for bed temp
M109 S230 ; wait for extruder temp
Am I missing something here, or is the gcode wrongfully genereated?
The first two seems to be generated 2020-04-30, but the "correct one" is generated 2018-03-10.
I have no issue in changing it myself/regenerate the gcode from the STL's, but just wanted to see if there was a human error when uploading the files.

Hi Daniel,
that does appear to be an error...

RE: Upgrade MK2S to MK2.5S - Wrong temps in predefined gcodes?
Just got my upgrade kit today and encountered the same issue.
Would we expect G-Code generated for PLA to be suitable for PETG apart from the M104 commands (which I can edit), or is it safer to re-slice from the STL's?

@christian-m5
I printed the files fine with only changing the temp values in gcode. Maybe a bit stringy, but not much.

Speeds and other settings may be tweaked for different filaments. In general, I'd go with re-slicing for the specific filament you'll be using.

@daniel-k25 & @bobstro. Thanks for your input. I have zero experience with PETG and I am finding that I need to start with a very slow first layer so re-slice it is!
