Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
After a few weeks of trying, I’m still finding PET impossible to print on my MK2SMMU; I can’t find any settings that work. I have some ABS; would that be an exceptable substitute? (Not that I know I can actually print with it.)
Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
Chatted with Prussia and no, ABS is not a substitute and they won’t sell me the parts preprinted.

Why would ABS not be a substitute? I've printed mine in PETG and ABS because I use an enclosure and things can get a bit hot (not sure if PETG alone can handle). Measured all the parts after printing and there is little to no difference in size between ABS and PETG. I did print the ABS parts at 100.5 scale though.

Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
I was curious about this - the parts for my original MK2S were all printed in ABS - I even bought a spool of the same colour orange ('safety orange' I think it is called) in case I needed to reprint any parts, it was good enough then but now everything has to be PETG??
The other curious thing is that they specify printing PETG with 0.2 layer height instead of 0.15 (marked as 'optimal') which I would think would have given a better finish?

Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
I think ABS will be fine as long as you using black or something very dark (not Prusa orange). Support either doesn't know what they are talking about or they are saying to use PETG since it's typically easier to print (no need for an enclosure, less shrinkage).
MK3 style y axis back plate

Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
Was there enough extra pet that they sent to print your additional from and back?

I’m afraid, it won’t be enough.
Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
Finished my upgrade last week and mainly had only a few minor things to adjust (first my X axis sensor had moved and wasn't getting depressed during calibrations, lastly my adjustable extruder drive gear was slightly misaligned...and despite printing a few parts just fine, it then began to skip due to the filament building up on the gear portion...easily resolved though) . I had just barely enough PET to print your (marco.p) Front and Rear plates! Here are a few pics , including one where I'm running out of PET as I am finishing the Y-axis set ! (it actually finished printing as I was posting this, so I'd definitely plan on having more PET , especially since you will want to print matching LCD supports 😉 The beer locks were some of the first things I printed after my 2.5 was calibrated so that I could compare them to others I'd printed prior to the update. I printed the Front and Back plates using the 3.2.0-RC1-461 firmware with 100mms linear advance.
Re: Done with my MK2.5 😉
Here's the front plate...note I only have about 12 windings left on my PET spool.

Wow! Seems like you got out the most of this roll of PETG.
