WARPING - PLA problem

Hey

I have a massive problem with PLA printing. PLA is warping a lot, so my models have bent corners or the whole print fail. I tried Prusa PLA, extrudr PLA, 3D Jake PLA. Printing PETG is no problem - no warping. I tried smooth and textured sheet. I cleaned the sheets very well, rubbed it with different hard spoons. I even put the printer in a wardrobe to avoid draft and temperature problems. I print on non heated bed, 70°C sheet... I can´t print PLA.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Do your corners detach from the build plate? Then your problem is adhesion rather than warping itself.
It would help to see what kind of object you are trying to print. Some really warpinducing large part?

In any case, printing PLA in a warm enclosure is pretty much always a bad idea. I am not saying you need drafts but the air temperatures should be not to far above room temperature.

Also textured sheets are usually more challenging for PLA regarding adhesion. I'd stick with smooth one. Fat free. Also if the build plate is already old, adhesion can deteriorate even with all the tricks. If that is the case a new one might change things. Also redo your first layer calibration. It might be good enough for PETG but maybe not squished enough for PLA.

If nothing helps, get some good adhesive stick, like Magigoo or dimafix and print at 60-70°C bed temp. For challenging objects with brim. If that doesn't do the trick there is something seriously off.

Hey

I thought about adhesion. It‘s a new XL - no old sheet. I have the same problem with textured and smooth sheet.

It happens with all objects.

I hope one day the sheet is used enough for better adhesion 😅

An optimally adjusted first layer is also crucial for good adhesion to the print bed. I would print the first layer at low speed (20mm/s and without fan). The ambient temperature should not be much above 30 degrees C.. A brim additionally supports adhesion to the outer edges.

RE:

Also to add to what is said above add a brim to see how it prints. Just saw this in the post above.

You provide general tips that can be found anywhere. I wonder if you are the owners of this device yourselves.

I was having the same issues, and the normal stuff (brim, draft, cleaning of build plate) didn't help.

I re-ran the calibration with the guide pin and it solved my issue. Made sure the nozzles were super clean and the guide pin is a bit strange to get at the right height, it kinda binds halfway on mine but snugs up eventually without too much force.

Hopefully that helps.
