We need to print a lot of stuff on our XL at work in PETG and bought several spools of Prusament PETG Recycled Black. I used this filament at home on my MINI, and had no issues with it. We already printed over 1 1/2 spools of it but suddenly we ran into issues on the XL. The filament would start to grind down in the extruder and get stuck. We had this issue now on two of the 5 extruders (and I'm currently testing it on Extruder #1, just to be sure it is the filament and not the extruders).

It almost looks like the recycled filament is softer than regular PETG and I even reduced the extruder tension, which did not help. Interestingly, the print looks perfectly fine, until after several layers it simply stops extruding.

We have several spools of regular Prusament PETG (which so far always worked flawlessly) at hand, which I could test too... But before I do more tests, I wanted to ask here first if ...

someone had similar problems with PETG Recycled Black too?

this could be a sign of moist filament? (i.e., these problems started only after the spool was several days in room-air)

this could be some issue with clogging I'm not aware of? (after unloading and loading the filament it extrudes fine)

I also noticed during filament purging that the flow was not "straight down" but it would immediately curl to the front and stick to the nozzle. Is there maybe something blocking the nozzle and thus after some time the nozzle cloggs up and the extruder can grind down the filament?

Hello Forum,

I've been struggling to print a custom servo horn for a 25T spur using PETG in my Prusa XL. Attached is a screenshot in which I've circled the problematic part in turquoise (this is not the servo horn I am trying to print, I am just pointing out the hole/teeth):

Either the hole is entirely too big (the printer skips the teeth), or the hole is too small (the teeth overlap/fuse). I've gotten tips on slowing the print speed and testing/calibrating the filament rate. I've tried the former with no success, and I am about to try the filament calibration.

Besides these two tips, are there any more suggestions for how to print a servo horn with properly sized teeth? Would buying a 0.2 mm nozzle solve this issue?

Thank you

I haven't seen anything like this and i have searched whole internet.
