RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
This is possible, but it should make no difference with PETG and PLA.
I think that from the beginning there's been pics like this from other users. It is I believe the reason from the beginning Prusa presented the machine with a draft accordion cover.
If you look, most of these error lines appear at a given height. And this height seems to coincide with the height of the top arms of the printer. Once the print gets exposed underneath those arms and suddenly cools, these artifact lines appear.
This printer needs (in my opinion) an enclosure.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
So I just got my email for the XL order. Seems I can pay up and get mine somewhat soon.
I'm not sure I want to though. My MK4 has started having issues, and, support hasn't been very helpful so far. I'm a little hesitant to drop a lot of $ on a 2nd new Prusa product that may develop new issues quickly.
Does anyone know how quickly you have to respond/pay once you get the order email? Do I have to decide today, or can I sit on it a few more days?

Don't know, but I guess if you wait 2 days, you will have 2 days delay and so on... No biggy unless you are in a hurry... Is an investment, make sure you get the one that fits your needs right.

I'm in the same boat, I've been holding my purchase for a few weeks now. Seeing all the problems that people experienced doesn't make me want to jump in right now. That is quite the investment yet you can receive a bed that is bent, faulty sensors, and still have to make your case to Prusa to get something that is working fine. I don't feel like arguing or search to get something that is supposed to work for that price...
Also, I don't particularly like how you feed through a long PTFE tube. I do print a lot of 85A TPU and 75A TPU and those materials don't seems to appreciate thigh space. I did not saw a lot of post using 85A TPU, I mostly see 95A.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
Seems on fb group no one is gonna believe you if you complain about MK4 issues... Just because theirs work perfect. I'm so fed up of these communities... Ah the good old days of reprap and everyone being at the same level....
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
I personally don't care if internet randos believe me or not when it comes to praise or issues. I just need Prusa to. I was skeptical of the complaints of MK4 issues, since I had a very early one and had a week+ on the print time odometer before even the first complaints started. Now I've finally seemed to hit one of the more common MK4 complaints though. Certainly adding to the hesitation on the XL, though I haven't yet followed the complaints on it yet (need to go do some reading!)

I am on week one of My XL. Only major issue is the Textured plate appears to have an adhesion issue in the back. It is almost as if it is thinner back there. The filaments fuse everywhere else but not on the back right hand corner. I switch to the satin plate and no issues.

What does Prusa say? Are they replacing it? Or since is a gift... Let us know.

Anyone else preorder on November 18th and get the opportunity to order the printer yet?
On their website they say they're starting to open up orders for people who ordered on November 19th.....what happens if they forget some people who ordered on the 18th?
IDK, just asking the question.
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
For what it's worth, the last time I contacted Prusa to ask about converting my 2 head semi assembled to a 5 head fully assembled I was told "2 weeks". I rated the chat a thumbs up, but made a comment on how I was disappointed that I could not convert mine even though all the conditions laid out were met.
I woke up this morning to an email from support telling me that the conversion process was available to the 5 head. I contacted chat this afternoon, they converted my order, and I just paid for it.
Now the final wait starts.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
I am going to wait to finalize my order until I see a lot of third party reviews of the five head model. I was burned by the MMU and the way this rolled out I am not certain enough that it is ready.
The majority of Prusa printers just work as advertised and satisfied customers rarely post so you'll mostly see complaints - and a high proportion of those will be from users who ignore manuals, selectively take only advice that matches their preconceptions, skip maintenance or have unrealistic expectations.
I certainly won't be posting reviews within the first twelve months of ownership, it takes at least that long to get to know a complex machine.
I too was 'burned' by the MMU; it was easy enough to get it to print multiple colours as long as you accept the waste of materials but I have no use for that. Multiple materials - PLA, PETG, Flex and soluble all in one print in place mechanism..? Forget it. This is what I hope the 5 head XL to manage. I expect it to take at least a year to crack it 'though.
Cheerio,
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
Well it seems they skipped my order. I noticed today that they started handling orders for 21st Nov for the dual semi assembled ( https://help.prusa3d.com/article/shipping-information_2297) but i still didnt get a notification email for my first day order. I started a chat and the response was that they would forward it to the shipping department and inform me in a couple of days. If you still haven't got anything maybe is a good idea to initiate a chat with them.
