You're the owner, just review it 😉
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
But ok well, this one left me a bit appalled with Support telling the guy "there's no solution to your issue" 🙁

That is a pretty specialized print. I suspect and hope that most of us do not have this issue.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
Yikes! But having support saying theres no solution doesnt sound promising :/
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
Either, he is not telling us something. There is no way that would eb the official line from Prusa. If this is "simple geometric" print. Prusa is not gonna say there is no fix. He is either lying or he misunderstood what was said to him.
I have used chat support for almost 5 years and helped hundreds that have doen the same. No one has ever said the tech used that wording. There is no way they said "there is no solution to your problem".

Probably what happened was they went through the basic checks and said they would get back to him via email which they sometimes do and if they never got back to him and he presumed that they couldn't fix it

I have never heard of them getting back to people by email. I suspect that could be possible.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
It's also weird you've been to chat 5 years and never been on a followup by email due to issues not resolveable by chat... I'vebeen in this situation plenty of times when chatting with Prusa Support 😕

If, as you assume, the flaw is cause by the fan, why not just turn the fan off? It's a large print, there's plenty of time between layers to cool without a fan.

That's not my post.
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
No, they always solve my problems in the chat.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
The only time they ever emailed me back was to send me a voucher or confirmation for a part was mailed.
What is more common for me is that I have to chat multiple times for an issue.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
You are lucky. For me it happened a few times to wait for a response via email. And the last one, which was an issue that i couldn not delete sl1 gcode files though the web gui, they didnt even answer me via email and i had to initiate another chat to remind them about the first. And after about 10 days and two chats the response was they know about it and they ara looking into it. I'm not saying this because i thing they have bad customer service. If it is an easy solution or something that can be solved via the chat service is very good. The problem is sometimes when it escalates to a level 2 support ...well ... is good but can be better.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
I believe I have used the tech support chat twice in the years I have owned my machines. 1st was when the bed thermistor failed due to a wire break and the second time when it would not pass a full calibration when I brought it up to the 3S+ baseline pre MMU2S integration. The second time it was determined to be user error as I had a bearing mod installed at the top of the dual Z rods. That took about an hour on chat with the agent, passing photos back and forth. Resolved both issues in chat, no email follow up.
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
I think that from the beginning there's been pics like this from other users. It is I believe the reason from the beginning Prusa presented the machine with a draft accordion cover.
If you look, most of these error lines appear at a given height. And this height seems to coincide with the height of the top arms of the printer. Once the print gets exposed underneath those arms and suddenly cools, these artifact lines appear.
This printer needs (in my opinion) an enclosure.
RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread
It shouldnt be that hard to just magnet a pair of acrylic walls to T screws on the frame if that's the issue.... but it sounds very weird. I do have a 400x400x400 troodon with the acrylic walls removed and I have no issues at all, unless they print with crap filament of course.
