Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread  

With luck I'll be able to build mine out of boatbuilding scrap - but that might just mean marine ply rather than regular.  I don't have room for a new 8' bench so it's going to take some careful tailoring to fit round everything else.

I use my leftover prints to make an epoxy filler.  I grind it up into powder and add it to thicken the epoxy.

I got my email today to finalize my order for a semi-assembled single extruder XL! My order was placed 18/11/21, 7:59pm (Prague time).

Just fyi to anyone who received an email to order a single tool head months ago, if you go to finalize order you can change the config to a dual head. You don't need to wait for a second email telling you the dual is available. Fully assembled only

OK, I'm still lurking on this XL Waiting Thread, even though I ordered a 5-head unit on week 3. So I know I'm going to be waiting a long time for my order to come up. My question is: should I still lurk on this XL Waiting Thread that is now under the XL Single-Tool page, or should somebody create an XL Waiting Thread under the XL Multi-Tool page? If so, where do we put these posts about converting between single-tool & multi-tool orders?

(I'm being excessively facetiously pedantic, but no more so than whoever split the threads into single-tool & multi-tool in the first place. 😋 )

I ordered my 2 head semi about 3-¼ hours after you.  It'll be interesting to see how long it takes them to process the first 3 hours of preorders.

Another observation.  They must have not shipped many of the 2-head semi-assembled, because the instructions on how to assemble are not up yet.

That says it is for the Assembled printer.  Mine is Semi-assembled.  I guess you could do part form one manual and part from the other, but I suspect it is not that simple.

My 1-head semi-assembled printer shipped exactly 1 week after I paid, and the shipping took 3 days to Oklahoma, it arrived Monday the 31st. I spent four hours on Tuesday assembling it. Very easy build.

Yes, I would guess that's the difference between "semi-assambled" and "kit".  

Personally, I'd prefer a kit.  I enjoy assembling them.  I made a Voron just for something to do during lockdown.  (It's was A LOT of work and it wasn't from a kit)

Update.....

My order has shipped.  That was a short wait.  Delivery is supposed to be early next week.  Last time, I had a delay of 1 day in customs.  See if that is par for the course.

Got my email the other day along with the the rest of you.  On travel so I’ll chat with support Monday to talk about modifying my order to the 5 toolhead version.
