RE:

I mentioned in another thread that the actual shipping (sending out) seems to be well ‘run’, but the process for picking what order will be sent from the back-log when seems to be highly variable.  CW got his Mk4kit before mine even shipped and my order was in first.  I’ve got a big presentation the week of the 11th that I could really use an extra printer to churn out some one-on-one visuals for.  It would be great if I could get the kit this week and put it together over the long weekend.  Right now my two Minis and Mk3 can get it done- as long as none of them go down.  Plus I wanted to use the Mk4 to print some of the parts for the MK3 to Mk3.9 in PC-CF because that 3.9 is going to be my enclosed High temp printer.  I know, my problems.  I just thought that a printer ordered in April would be here in time for a July presentation….  Besides the fact that when I’m done I’ll have 5 Prusas (2mini, 2Mk4ish, 1 XL) I think I’m done with Prusa for awhile.  Going to concentrate on learning design and some projects I have, special filaments on a Filabot extruder I have at work,. plus a resin printer for some special projects.

For the dual and multi head, is there a difference in timing for kits versus complete?  I don’t see any distinction in the shipping table?

I like I have said to many: "am just going to have to accept that which I cannot change".

It might be a good idea for those awaiting Prusa XLs to (politely) post their disappointment in the chat section on Wednesday's Prusa Live and ask about the reason for lack of transparency.

have you ever wrote something in the chat?.....they just ignore it. and if they respond to it, its just a sentence like: we know  you are waiting, but....but....but.....supplychain.....but.....but.....(we want to be perfect but we also know we cant)

Yes - got answered once, ignored other times.  Perhaps a lot of requests would have a positive effect.

Will do.  I am very disappointed that they continue to provide clarity.  If they had made it clear up front, I would have ordered a single head assembled.

I think if the order process was clear to begin with there would’ve been Very different ordering from customer with more built assemblies on single head units .

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

pretty simple...they didnt know whats coming at this moment.

they never had core XY experience.
they havent (of course) a big assembly manual like on the mk3 decade
"probably" they struggled since its not anymore a 10h assembly for normal users.
Kind of Voron "experience" and yes you need some extra skills for a coreXY printer vs MK3.
so they made the decision thats not a good idea to send out a "kit" to customers when they dont have a step by step manual like the mk3
(at this point iam kinda agree a bit)
But there are experienced core XY users out there and heres were they fail.
they could offer it as BETA printer for experienced user with somethink like feedback protocols to get back real user experience.

finding bugs and problems you need more than a company internal team. And as long as its clear what you buy its fine when parts missing, something doesnt work etc etc. you cant "replicate" first time users. you need them to see thru their eyes.

for example until now even the MK3 manual has a handful of mistakes where users comment where the problem is but the manual is still not updated to make things more clear.

you need problems to find and fix them.

RE:

At this point the main reason (other than the hope that the dispatch day is not so far away) why still keep the order is the tool changer option. There is no other reason why i should stay with prusa. I had no issues concerning the quality of my mk3s (a lot concerning mmu2s) . I also have an SL1s which is a great printer but VERRYY overpriced for what it is. For me Prusa is a company that has a good product (MK3s) for quite a few years now but lately i thing that that is all. If my issue was the printing size there are a lot and probably more mature options out there. And i really hate for a company to keep spewing cheap and repetitive excuses that make me believe that they think of their customers as naive fanboys.

Great news, congratulations!  So, we've learned one tiny thing; from the time of email to shipping is two weeks.  Please keep us updated on actual shipping/delivery.

Would you mind sharing your order# with us so we can get a clue as to where we are in the queue. (Leave off the last couple of digits if you're worried about security.)

Has anyone posted an independent review of the two head unit yet? I've had my order in since day one and want to see some reviews that are not from one of the usual fanboys.

I pre-ordered mine on 22 november 2021. (it took me some days to think things over, do some financial-planning, ...)

Does anyone know where I could find myself in the order-list?

Absolutely this order starts with 16372 , oddly enough it shipped before the Single head semi assembly . Curious though how much the import duties are gonna bang me on this too . For packages coming to the states they seem to be hitting harder and harder .

I plan to do a full review of the unit once it’s received up and running . Probably try and do an unboxing video of sorts too . Never done one but first time for everything 😃

There's an unofficial spreadsheet that has a few hundred entries in it.  It might give you a clue as to where you are in the queue.

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

mmm, some very good arguments are made here.

We can all understand that there are sudden problems when launching an new product, innovating technology ...
but there is a big disapointment when those many people who stay loyal to the Prusa-brand, to the Prusa-idea's, to the reprap-ideology, ...
(some of which have been loyal dispite the mk3-launch-delays) ...

are confronted with the big lack of info, the wainting and waiting, and waiting ...

I am at the point now where I still will wait for the XL dual-head-semi-assembled-order that I made .. as I know I will also benefit from a platform that I will understand, am familiar with, that has been proven to be solid and user-friendly, 24/7-helpdesk, ... so many pro's ...

... but I'm no longer PRUSA-loyal for all the other arguments.
SOmeone asking for my advice??? I will NOT advice Prusa any more. There are cheaper alternatives.
I'll explain my choices ... but also explain that they come at a cost.

and ;..this has all to do with the continued dissapointments:
launching a brand new printer ... and then "some days later" launch an other new product, ship this second first and massive, explaining patience for the other, first product.
Delays after delays, ...
beautifull podcasts ... but very few info on the XL

I'm sure there must exist many valuable excuses for all those delays ...
but how do you explain the loss of MANY former Prusa-loyal clients ...

RE: Unofficial Prusa XL Waiting Thread

Thanks for that, it gives me some hope.  I'm 16372473xx, so, even if your order was 1637200000, I can't be more that 47,300 orders behind you.  I've ordered the kit.  They claim with the dual head printers, fully assembled and kit are shipping together, but I don't know if that's really happening.
