If I change my order from semi to full assembled when possible. Will this delay delivery?

Depending on the parts availability I guess... 

If they have everything in stock, then you can change your order at the time of shipping with no delay penalty.

Being a new printer, I think knowing how it works and therefore how it repairs is very important. Of course, time is money... But I figure a few bugs at the beginning might be on the horizon... since is a completely new model.

What's kicking me in the pants is that I have a research project due this fall and it relies heavily on having an XL in-hand. 😬

Nonetheless, if this thing works as well as I hope it does, it'll be game-changing.

Why, are you planning to print a 100% infill cube, cnc it, laser your signature and paint it afterwards with a can-O-extruder? 😂

I planned to buy the 5 hotend model.  I am wondering if I should just get the 6th.  

I wonder if you can add custom hotends.

Several folks have reported that Prusa said they were thinking about ti because of the extra room with 5.  I suspect they will release it in a blog post if they decide to do so.  It would require a resign on the controller board.

I'll get a 6th easily and I assume you could play with customized ones since everything Prusa is open source. Not sure what would be fun to add, laser, sander, heated threaded insert tool? Food extruders?

Would I, could I, should I order a 6th extruder? Would I use it? Well, let's see...

3 different materials in 2 different nozzle sizes...

Mikolas just said they were considering it. I got the impression that if it happened it would be a later revision rather than add another delay/complexity to the initial release.

Custom hotends?  Different toolheads are definitely on the cards but again, not initially.

He said some areas were deliberately made relatively easy for users to modify, this in reply to a question about changing the placement of the spool holders.

I’m surprised about the number of people that are ordering the XL with one extruder.  I know we can change it, but if a lot of these orders get upped, I could see where that would cause an issue with fulfillment if a lot of those orders get bumper to 5 (or now 6).  I hope they do some balancing there on people adding extruders.

I hope they plan for this yes, and going from 2 to 3+ also adds a board if I got it right?

Likely every order with "5" will upgrade to "6" though.

From the last Prusa Live show and their repeated comments about materials availability and supply chain it's quite clear to me that we shouldn't expect much or anything to ship anytime soon.

I will get 5 or 6, but to be honest, I am not sure how much most of us will use the 2-6 extruders.  I have a printer with 2 extruders and the second one is used about 5-10% of the time.  I will definitely have to think about how it fits in my workflow.
