RE: Prusa Delays
There is no new video. Last prusa live (from this Wednesday) said: status unchanged, what has been mentioned in the last (old) video is still holding true.
RE: Prusa Delays
I wonder if anyone has told them that every month that they delay this, the chances of them keeping their jobs, and the value of their equity, goes down for when the company eventually gets sold. The amateur schtick only goes so far.
RE: Prusa Delays
So you think Joe Prusa should be concerned about loosing his job over the XL delays. Interesting.
RE:
Personally no. I just will use my wallet to vote where I shop in future, I believe the poster is making some valid points about how investors will feel about another delayed launch that is once again badly handled. It’s a shame - but I feel there’s a lot of tinkerers and not enough big business shapers at Prusa and they need to step on the gas so to speak. Other manufacturers have designed multiple products and brought them to market already in the time it’s taken for Prusa to not really tell us a great deal about the product that was meant to have launched months ago? Odd.
RE: Prusa Delays
No one is going to lose their job over the delays. That is very Histrionic.

RE: Prusa Delays
So, by my meaning Josef had too much hurry up with announcing his XL model. Now we can see that - in fact - more than 1 year later XL is not ready for selling-and will not be for months and months. For me as a customer doesn´t matter why it is not. After announcing and starting with pre-ordening I really want to get my product in - some realistic - time. Yes XL promises a lot - real multimaterial, great printing size etc. - but it is only promise, nothing else for now. Others like Bambulab, Ender and others are producing big CoreXY printers - of course without toolchanger- but they are available on the market, and cheeper than XL. And for Prusa it is really great danger, that people will not wait for XL and will buy another mark.

I think not. There will always be room in the market for a great open-source product with a tool changer that is supported and will have firmware updates regularly. The cheaper Creality printers are ok, but they cannot compete with the support and quality of a Prusa. Bambu is only slightly larger than the Mk3S at 256x256x256 vs. 250x210 x210. That is essentially less than 50mm. The XL is 360x360x360.
I now own 3 Bambus. They are decent, but in my opinion, they are not a Prusa Killer.
Ultimately, you can not change or even control the release dates, so like alcoholics in recovery, we need to accept what we cannot control. The last release was on 25 January. I would expect there will be an update soon. I have no connections to Prusa, but I have been a loyal customer for 4 years. I understand the frustration.

Thank you for paying attention, and actually reading and understanding what I wrote. Eventually, they are going to sell this company and the people that buy it are going to look at the past performance and whack a lot of the people in charge of these projects because of a lack of performance. That’s all I meant.
RE: Prusa Delays
When they announced the Prusa, I realized that I’d need bigger than the standard 150mm calipers, so I got the BIG pair. Haven’t used them, but the batteries are pretty much dead.
RE: Prusa Delays
Not as bad as me. When the original delivery date came around I gave away my Anycubic Chiron! I ended up buying the cheapest printer on offer (MeCreator 2) for small stuff, but I'm desperate for a larger printer. 😩
It is a shame Prusa could not deliver due to many uncontrollable circumstances and a couple of sub-optimal business choices in the past few years. Consumers can be patient at times, but there is a limit to the duration.

Sorry Wrong Quote.

RE: Prusa Delays
"Things that happened between pre-ordering my XL and getting my XL" thread anyone?
RE: Prusa Delays
I'd have a lot to write in that topic.

That's why I have analog calipers 😉

RE: Prusa Delays
Wow things must be bad, even we have stopped talking about when the XL will ship!
Over 1 week into March and same old sh**, Prusa; just be honest and tell us 'Sorry, we can't get the XL working right." and then at least we can move on.
😫
RE:
I weirdly agree. Sorry Prusa, no more preorders from me in future.
I’d say I don’t think there’s the need for this secrecy, it’s only infuriating the buyers now I’d like to hear a plan and some movement on orders because as mentioned other manufacturers have designed from scratch entire product lines, built and shipped them in the time it’s taken prusa to deliver nothing to us yet. I’d be happy if I got more info on what’s going on that’s all I want at this stage. Last update video was way too vague and wishy washy.

Did you preorder an XL?

Yes twin extruder was going to switch to 3 to get the correct board. Not sure I’m going to bother. I think it’s going to work faster for my current plans to buy a couple of Bambus for now - I am contemplating cancelling my preorder.
RE: Prusa Delays
A single printer is never going to outperform 2. That is an overgeneralization, but I can out print my faster VORON 2.4 with 2 Minis and it has double the print bed size.

I’m aware. Respectfully you are not aware I what intend to use the printers for… I was merely stating my intentions.
