Multinozzle vs MMU
Just a wild and probably too-hard-basket idea.
But if at some point we were able to use multiple nozzle sizes on the XL, then we would need to have probably the same filament loaded on each of those nozzles (unless something different is desired)
On a single extruder machine an MMU3 provides capacity up to 5 materials.
So we can say it's a 5x1 matrix (or bus)
Then what about finding a way to get an MMU on the XL?
That way it would become a 5x5 matrix; 5 materials over 5 extruders.
It's kind of obvious that the capabilities of this would be quite crazy as if the MMU can load any of the 5 materials on any of the 5 extruders then the printer could have multiple nozzle sizes while printing all from the same spool. (Lots of tuning to minimize wastage)
Many other options but well, I know it would be an absolute mindff to design and implement so printing times don't blow out or waste half a spool in just filament changes (like bambu? 😂😅)
just an idea 🤷🏻♂️🤙🏻
