Textured Sheet: inconsistent Z height, overall too high
After playing with the XL for a few days, I definitely see the need for tweaking the Z on the textured sheet. Yeah it prints the first layer perfectly on the smoother sheet, but in general the Z is too high on the textured. The goal: Nice textured multicolor bottom layers where you can't see extrusion lines or gaps.
It either needs a Z babystep feature or a better way to detect the height.
My theory: the textured sheet is covered with lots of high and low bumps. When the load cell touches down, it by chance could engage with a higher bump or lower spot between bumps. So there's a random factor there that's unavoidable, that tends to be too high overall.
Possible solutions: Add Z babystepping to the software, or Prusa programs in a slight x/y variation of perhaps 0.5mm for each probe point, and make it do three touches in each point at these slightly different spots to get the average height of the sheet in that point.
