Modular Bed Error

Hello all,

I have successfully run all tests and even ran off a test batarang. However now when I attempt to preheat the printer for a print I'm receiving the error "Modular Bed Error" 17319.

The article for this simply suggests to check the bed for damage, however I see now issues with it. I have verified the fuses are in place and ensured that all connections are secured regarding the bed (underneath, as well as in the back of the unit).

Has anyone run into any similar issues? Any tips for how to track down the actual source of this failure (e.g. logs?)?

TIA.

RE: Modular Bed Error

I get the same error. It has been inconsistent in when it appears. If I heat the whole bed it will always happen. Sometimes I can heat individual sections and get a small test print to work. Have you been working with support? I am interested if anyone has any advice on tracking this down too.

I've tried inspecting for damage (none visible); checked the fuses; re-attached the power cables to the bed; reseated several of the modular connectors; checked the voltage at the bed (23.6).

RE:

I'm having the same issue. But I can't even get past the calibration. The calibration part of the heat bed always runs unsuccessful. I can manually heat up the heatbed to 110°C without any problems, though. The same issue was resolved here by adding the steel sheet before running the calibration/test (in my opinion this should be addressed in the assembly guide). However, everytime I run the calibration/test with any of the steel sheets the "Modular Bed Error" 17319 occurs.

I contacted customer support regarding the issue and after I checked that all cables connection to the board of the heating bed were connected, they will now have to investigate and email me about it.

I have this same exact issue - though in my case, *sometimes the XL will reboot itself during calibration.

Just curious, what is your "5V Voltage" number in the info section?  (Mine is 33.3!)

RE: Modular Bed Error

I'm adding to my troubleshooting here based on a scenario I saw in another post. If I slowly raise the bed temperature (Control>Temperature>Bed Temp) by1 degree ,I can heat the whole bed. If I try increments of 3-5 degrees, I receive the modular bed error. I was able to go from 25C to 60C in this manner. Then I tried increasing the temperature again at larger increments (5-10 degrees) and I received the modular bed error.

I checked the bed temperature was increasing by using a non-contact thermometer. While there is a good deal of variation across the surface, it did seem to be heating to the range indicated in the controls.

I have not heard from the support team in 3 days. Has anyone worked out a potential solution from Prusa?

I have also not had any response from Prusa's "contact us" form letter 'if you need more help' now on the third day.  It may be time to leverage chat.

Mine reads 33.4! You may be onto something here.

Having the same problem. Only happens when a sheet is on the heat bed. If I take off the sheet and put it back on when temperature is around 30, the bed completes heating.

RE: Modular Bed Error

Could this be a faulty "Power Panic" reaction by the printer? Is the firmware overreacting to a spike in heating and going into shutdown mode?
