Does prusa connect log prints started manually on the machine?
Hi! I manage a large print farm at a college with minis and mk3s+'s. Will Prusa connect log prints started from the SD card slot? I'm looking at using raspi's to get the mk3s+ online, but mostly for getting failure metrics and filament usage statistics, our students would still be printing from SD cards/flash drives mostly.
Another dream feature for my use case is requiring students to enter a valid student email somewhere before starting a print - this way we could look at the logs and ensure no untrained users were using the printers - is anything like this possible? I wouldn't want to give every student access to remote printing, but I would love to have a kiosk where they enter their info before starting a print.
RE: Does prusa connect log prints started manually on the machine?
Hi, yes, Connect will track prints from the SD card. The only problem is that PrusaLink connected over USB breaks PowerPanic. If you get frequent power outages, consider using the gpio pins or hold off till PrusaLink 0.8.0 is out.
Filament tracking is all kinds of broken right now, you have the job history, but metadata there is missing for printer SD card only prints
The printer should report filament used on Link 0.8.0, but the connect side seems broken in some way.
So filament tracking is probably not going to work for MK3Ses :/
In this regard, you should get job history and maybe camera snapshots if you connect a webcam or a raspi cam to the raspberry pis
As for the minis, metadata there work better, so job history would contain filament used.
