"Image Shaper" is Awful on my Mini
I thought the promises from image shaping sounded too good to be true. After half a dozen failed prints, in just a week, from a machine that didn't fail that often for years, I am going to pronounce this technology awful. I'm not sure what the problem is they're trying to solve, but the whole, speed things up but do some secret motor-jiggling to avoid vibration problems explanation I saw... Come on. pull the other one. With image shaper, I "save time" but in return I get lousy surfaces. I get lousy extrusion on base layers, stuff peeling up. Problems I never had before, and don't have if I just re-slice the things using older profiles. Image shaper multiplied my time per print by 2 or 3x because I had to run so many over again.
RE:
I believe you mean Input Shaping. Apparently not every printer is capable of doing that, maybe it depends on the manufacturing date, I don't know. Surely Input Shaping exposes certain printer issues due to the increased print speeds.
I suggest to rever to the settings that work. Also some people report problems on 6.4.x firmware.
I'm on 6.2.x, printer from April 2023 and no major issues.
