How to turn on input shaper?
I dont´t get it. Can someone tell me how to turn on the speedy mode?
I have the newest version of prusa slicer installt on my PC and the brand new input shaper update flashed on the mini.
So how does it work? Can I turn on Input Shaper in prusa slicer? My Benchy took 1 hour and 10 minutes last week with the old 2.6 version of PS and the old 4.4 firmware and know with the newest versions it also took 1 hour and 10 minutes. I use the preset profiles from Prusa.
I don´t get it? Is there something to turn on? A Benchy under half an hour is impossible for me.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
Ah I found it on my own. For does who have the same problem: You have to go to the printer Configuration Assistent in Prusa Slicer there you can click on the printer input shaper profile. Thats it. Happy printing to all.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
It's "Configuration" -> "Configuration Wizard", and when selecting the "Prusa FFF Technology Printers", there'll be versions with and without input shaping.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
To turn on Input Shaper in PrusaSlicer, first make sure you have the latest firmware and PrusaSlicer version installed. Open PrusaSlicer and go to "Print Settings". Look for the "Speed" section and find the "Input Shaper" option. Enable it by checking the box or selecting it from the dropdown menu. This feature helps reduce vibrations and can speed up your prints. Ensure you are using the correct printer profile and settings that support Input Shaper. If you have done all this and your print times haven’t improved, double-check your settings and firmware updates, and consider consulting Prusa’s official support for further assistance.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
I'm using the Prusa Slicer 2.9.0 and there is no option for "Input Shaper" (I'm using the Expert Mode), as you described.
In the "Print Settings" in section "Speed" there is only one parameter set by a check box an this is "enable dynamic overhang speeds" all other parameters are values to be be set, so I can not confirm what you wrote, sorry.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
Input Shaping is enabled within the printer profile itself -- as @friedmanwd directed, go to the actual configuration wizard and add the Input Shaping version of the Mini to your printer list, and it should appear as option in your available printers.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
I'm confused here because my printer is the MK4S which uses a HF nozzle, so in my understanding using the Mini is not the right choice for my printer.
When I check the printer configurations available for the MK4 family, I only see the input shaper for the MK4, not the MK4S. Perhaps this is my misunderstanding of the printer configuration files. I assume that if I select the Input Shaper for the MK4, I will be using settings that do not take advantage of all the benefits of the MK4S over the MK4.
RE: How to turn on input shaper?
You're currently in the Prusa MINI subforum, so that's why it's assumed you're trying to enable IS on a mini.
Make sure your configuration files are up to date (Configuration -> Check for Configuration Updates). All MK4S configurations only come with Input Shaping profiles, there are no non-IS to select (the angled banner over the image shows Input Shaper -- they just removed it from the text below).
Just check of the nozzles you want to use with the MK4S and you're good to go.
