How to recreate the Bonkers Benchy settings

Hey folks,

I upgraded to the new input shaping firmware and printed a bonkers benchy, which was... insane in the best way possible. However, when I slice my own, it's 50 minutes instead of 15. I have the IS profile in, do we know what else we have to do to get these mind-blowing speeds? This is ideal for draft parts.

RE:

Haven't had a chance to play around much with the new slicer profile, but these would be the key aspects:

  • Perimeters: 1
  • Infill: 5% Aligned Rectilinear (or possibly lower if that's possible?)
  • Infill angle: 95 degrees
  • Filament settings -> Cooling -> turn OFF "Enable Auto Cooling"
  • Filament settings -> Advanced -> Max Volumetric Speed: ??????? (don't know if they kept this at ~15 or just let it rip)

Past that, it all comes down to the actual speed settings.

If the  bonkers benchy gcode was sliced with PS then the settings will be stored at the end of the gcode. You can use Prusa slicers Import settings from gcode option under the file menu to load them into PS or manually take a look.

Neat. Here we go...

Print Settings

Filament

Printer

Quite a bit in there. Machine limits are basically doubled, overhangs just get run at 100%, minimal top/bottom layers. Min time between layers is actually set (it's 1 second, but still...), and the max volumetric flow rate is still capped at 15 mm^3/sec.

Overall result is ~14 mm^3/sec right up until the smoke stack.

You can import the settings from 26min benchy. 15min benchy uses modifiers, which cannot be imported from the g-code.

Playing Around with this, and I am trying to recreate the same speeds into a profile. There is the red flag by the print settings and filament settings, which i am guessing is those modifiers you mentioned. Is there any way to keep those modifiers? Or recreate them with settings?

Alright, so I have made a profile that prints a benchy in 18min. I have matched almost everything to the bonkers benchy file. I am going to print a buddy dog with it, and if anyone else wants to try printing buddy in 13min go for it. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtmHUeM3fIvjgqMWsB73qSnCqwAIUg?e=B8WUwo

My filament is wet, but otherwise that came out fast and easy. Nice work!
