Wipe tower without MMU

I tried printing a wipe tower with my Mini+ for a multi-material project (in M600 mode without MMU).

I got a horrible wipe tower, with the main problem being the excessive bleeding of filament that created balls with subsequent impact with the nozzle. Is this because the wipe tower is designed to work exclusively with MMUs? I attach an image. The printing was successful and fortunately there was no jump in the Z level.
