TPU flex printing issue nozzle stucken in print mid print fail
Hi there ,
I had a few times the same issue with my pridsa mini. and up to now was unable to get it work properly. I looked in the forum very quick for any hints but was not successful ( even an ia search was unsuccessful for this)
My print starts and print at least 1 layer then at some point. it is stucked mid print. the nozlle let a huge amounts of material flow out of the nozzle which blocks the nozzle in the print. causing error 12207 which is not minbed error as when I immediatly stop / restart theprinter the temperature of the nozzle is at 200C as the bed. I do not uderstand that the error shows minbed temperature at this point when it is in fact only anozzle stucked in print.
this error never happens with PLA only with tpu.
I did some great print with flexible filament in the past but I cannot recall how I did that... Just need some hints thank you.
RE:
So a small edit: the edit fnction did not work.
So I solved this issue in the past by increasing temperature to 244°C which helped alot during printing a complete object. although the risk is nozzle clogging at some point

RE: TPU flex printing issue nozzle stucken in print mid print fail
I am amazed of the zero feedback here. so I am kind of stunned of the low implication level. In the past people were more involved to help.
I tried several things but still the mini is printing a couple of layer in tpu with no issue until it pushes a big blob of overextrusion making the nozzle to be stucked. I mean the drying is not the issue here but the residence time of the filament in the hot end. as it keeps extruding filament long after the filament is pushed during a purge test.
any hints?

There are not that many people with the Mini, from which the one that tried to print TPU is even smaller. And people have lives and visit forums when they have a time.
For now I can recommend patience or asking in Prusa Chat for help.
See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
The mini was never intended to print TPU as the elasticity of the material makes it very hard to control through the bowden tube under compression. As you have found, the tendency for excess stored pressure to cause oozing is very high.
Whilst people have successfully printed TPU it is more of a party trick than a practical proposition.
Cheerio,

Hi Diem, you are right I remember having avoided to print tpu with the mini but I
tried once and was kind of amazed to see it was decently printing...
But not perfectly sure. I do get several good layer printed () until it overextrude and I do noz know whsat to use to decrease the latency of presure build up in the nozzle...
