Top Layer Issues
So I am printing now for a while using the default profiles for the Prusa Mini+. Suddenly something with the top layer is wrong. I did check the first layer and everything is ok there. I also did adjust the YZ axis to have a perfect first layer. I can't figure out what's wrong with the top layer. The top layer looks like when the nozzle is not close enough when calibrating the first layer. Help is appreciated.

Hi, it is not the best light on photos, but it looks like gaps between extruded lines? So underextrusion? Maybe this will help https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/hardware-firmware-and-software-help/prusa-mini-extrusion-e-steps-calibration-under-extrusion/#post-675067

RE: Top Layer Issues
Yes there are gaps between the lines. I will check the underextrusion topic you've linked. Thank you so much!
RE: Top Layer Issues
So I did check the extrusion yesterday and my Mini+ was under extruding as mentioned in the linked topic. Mine did extrude 98mm instead of 100mm.
RE: Top Layer Issues
When I have the measurements I guess it is correct to add them at the end of to the Start G-Code section like this?
M92 E335.31
RE:
No, you can change e-steps in experimental menu and apply correction across all firmware. Follow guide: Experimental menu (MINI/MINI+) | Prusa Knowledge Base (prusa3d.com) and change extruder steps from 325 to 335, save and reboot printer. No need to change gcode.
RE: Top Layer Issues
I did another calibration last week and it seems to be better now. It also seems to depend on the used filament. I use PLA filaments from Azurefilm and each prints a little bit different. I also set the flow rate to 100%, this seems to make it better as well. I still need to square the printer as there is something wrong with the X or Z axis. Btw. feedback from support regarding this issue was to exchange the hot end PTFE tube. I checked the tube, but there is not issue with it. Seems also far fetched to me.
RE: Top Layer Issues
Here is another picture from a different print where the issue can be seen better. I'll report back when after I've checked all the axes.
RE: Top Layer Issues
I'm having some problems with the top layers too. I'm trying to make a little keychain for myself, but the last layers was horrible. After tinkering with the flow rate, nose temp and the top layer settings its got better, but there are still some holes. I noticed these holes are shows in the slicer too so I tried to modify the model but some of them just wont disappear.
RE: Top Layer Issues
For me it seems that changing the esteps and setting the flow rate to 100% worked really well but I started printing with Prusament PETG now as well and for that to print well I had to revert my settings. I am a little bit lost now. Could the nozzle maybe have something to do with that issue too? Maybe I got a "bad" nozzle that is not really 0.4mm wide?
RE: Top Layer Issues
Follow up: I did sent back my Mini+ because I was unhappy with it and I got myself now a MK4. It's an awesome machine but I discovered again top layer issues. At the moment I think it has to do with the filaments I use. Especially when I use the blue filament seen in the pictures above (Azurefilm PLA Blue). I guess I will print a heating tower next to check if it is the filament settings. I will post again when I know more.
RE: Top Layer Issues
I recommend that you look into the Infill/Overlap settings in the Print settings.Print Settings -> Advanced -> Infill/Perimiters overlap (Expert). I have this usually changed to 20-25% depending on how bad it is.
