Stops printing and show 37d 6h remaining

My grandson scaled flexi-facehugger to fit on build plate and it consistently stops after 1h57m of printing and shows 37d 6h remaining.  Extruder and bed appear to be at operating temps for PLA -  nothing shut them down, it just stopped. He has successfully printed several things prior to this.

Is this your own design or something you've downloaded?

   ( some published designs are very impressive as 3d images but almost impossible to print )

Does it print OK at the original scale?

 - and how long does the slicer predict the print will take?

@diem

download from thingiverse 3776361.  Too big to print original scale; don't know scaling factor - dammit.  Also do not know predicted print time; grandson is remote. Comments on thingiverse state others have printed successfully, scaled or not.

Stopped print full print time was 4H 15m.

That model fits at full scale - just rotate it in place until it fits the bed, no need to scale.

It is manifold and lies well on the bed - both things to watch out for.

It seems to slice OK and the layers preview looks like it should print; there are a few overhang perimeters that might be tricky but no obvious reason to halt.  The slicer predicts 6h 56m in my default setting.

I didn't print it.

Try reslicing at full scale, rotated roughly 45 degrees.

It's possible your grandson went a little overboard trying to get it to fit.

If you still have problems, come back and we'll take another look.

@diem

Major goof on my part: Printer is Prusa Mini.  Apologies.

@blake-mago

Oops, no it's my goof, I should have remembered which  subforum I was posting in.

Reslice the part yourself and keep a note of the parameters you use (save a 3mf) if this fails to print too then an examiation of the .3mf might identify the issue.

Also, print something else roughly the same size, if that stops then the problem might be with the printer.
